Truth Revealed, Janelle & Christine Brown Asked To Marry Kody

Did Janelle Brown and Christine Brown actually ask to marry their now former husband, Kody Brown? It always seemed like Janelle was a seamless transition while Christine was church royalty. So, what is the truth behind why they wed him back in the early nineties? Read on for more details.

Truth Revealed, Janelle & Christine Brown Asked To Marry Kody

Janelle Brown seamlessly came into the plural family as she had been married to Meri Brown’s brother. Meri is Kody’s former first wife whom he wed in 1990. Eventually, Janelle liked what she saw between Meri and Kody and felt that this life was for her. At the same time, her mother fell in love with Kody’s father so they had a lot of ties to each other. As for Christine Brown, Kody had referred to her as church royalty. Therefore, marrying her was a big deal and made him feel elevated. Yet, did the women actually ask to marry Kody? Did they want to be his wives?

According to People’s exclusive sneak peek of Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives, everything is explained. There is a lot of chatter from Kody about keeping four wives happy. He acknowledges that plural wives face being lonely as they really do not have a full-time husband. However, Robyn believes it brings her closer to God. That’s when Kody shares how he actually ended up with his wives.“I courted Meri and I courted Robyn, but Christine and Janelle both asked if they could be in the family,” he started.

The father of eighteen continued: “And with that ask, I had some special requirements that I wanted them to meet in order to come into the family, and mainly that was there’ll be other wives, you’ve got to be committed to me.” So, per Kody, Janelle and Christine Brown wanted to be in his family, but they were never actually courted. However, Janelle speaks up about this and ensures the audience knows the backstory behind their romance.

Janelle’s Side

Though Kody Brown tries to say that Janelle and Christine Brown asked to be in the family, this may not be as cut and dry as he implies. Janelle shared that married men should not be out chasing women. It is more respectful if they approach the family and say they feel that they “belong” with them than anything else. She also felt that she and Christine should not get treated any less simply because they did not get an invite as Robyn did. It also needs to be noted there was no begging to be in the family, just an inquiry turned courtship.
