TAKE THAT! Sister Wives fans gasp after Christine Brown’s new husband David Woolley disses her ex Kody in wedding speech
FANS have reacted to Sister Wives star Christine Brown’s husband after he gave a wedding speech during their fairytale Utah ceremony.
Christine, 51, and David Woolley, 59, officially tied the knot at Red Cliffs Lodge, in Moab, Utah, over the weekend.
The pair, who got engaged in April after dating for only a few months, had over 300 guests attend their special day.
During the ceremony, David acknowledged meeting the Sister Wives star on a dating site, where he immediately knew Christine was the one.
The couple began dating in the fall of 2022, although the exact date is unknown since they did not go public with their relationship until February 2023.
“I’m really very lucky, and very happy that someone let her go, because she’s a unicorn,” he said in a speech, according to People.
The quote comes as a possible dig at the TLC star’s ex-husband Kody Brown, 54.
Taking to an online thread, some fans pointed out David’s choice words.
“I like his quote about being lucky someone let her go,” one person wrote.
A second agreed: “Yes I appreciated the shade there.”
A third noted: “He is being too generous here. Kody would have NEVER let Christine go. SHE left HIM.”
Other fans also chimed in with how much happier Christine appeared at her wedding with David.
“Omg so gorgeous!!! I love this glow up and I couldn’t be happier for her to experience being someone’s number 1 with no (k)onditions attached,” one user wrote.
“Christine looks beautiful. Happy and glowing. She deserves this after the first wedding and that awful gown that made her feel less than,” a second commented.
A third jabbed: “She looks so joyful! This is how a couple should start a marriage!”
Christine and Kody were spiritually married for 25 years before publicly announcing their split in November 2021.
The breakup came around the same time the reality star ditched Flagstaff, Arizona, and moved to Salt Lake City.
Christine and her ex share six children: Aspyn, 28; Mykelti, 27; Paedon, 25; Gwendlyn, 21; Ysabel, 20; and Truely, 13.
David, for his part, is father to eight children: Adam, Colton, Garrett, Kati, Dallas, Raegan, Payton, and Maddox.
He was previously married to Margaret Suliin Woolley before she died in 2012.
WEDDING DETAILS
David and Christine’s outdoor wedding was an all-day affair with set-up beginning in the early hours of the morning and guests arriving in the early afternoon, an insider told The U.S. Sun.
The wedding was filmed by TLC cameras, a source previously confirmed to The U.S. Sun, either for Sister Wives or a potential spinoff show.
According to a source, Christine’s former spouse and his last-standing wife Robyn were not in attendance.
While writing the guest list, Christine was brutal as she decided who would attend, as only her ride-or-die co-star Janelle, 54, made the cut.
Fellow sister wife Meri, 52, was not present for the nuptials.
As for the ceremony, Christine’s son Paedon and her father Rex escorted her down the aisle, according to People.
Her lace wedding gown from Boda Bridal revealed her shoulders and flattered her slim silhouette.
The TLC star held a bouquet of colorful flowers to bring a pop of color to the Western-themed ceremony, which was surrounded by views of majestic, 2,000-foot red cliffs and the Colorado River.
Meanwhile, David sported a classic all-black tuxedo.
On her special day, Christine said: “It’s a fairytale. It’s everything I never thought I would have. I get to walk down the aisle to David, him just looking at me the way that he does, it’s a dream come true.”
