“Why did Christine marry Kody if she was considered polygamy royalty?” a curious Sister Wives fan asked on Reddit. “I’m curious why Christine chose to be a third wife to a man with no money, not much to his name and it’s not like he had the TV show at the time.”

The OP went on to describe how Kody’s first two marriages were already rocky and he always insisted he didn’t love Christine. They asked why as the granddaughter of the prophet, she settled for Kody instead of seeking out someone with better status.
“I feel like Kody went out of his way to pursue her and woo her over, which makes it more messed that he never really loved her or was attracted to her,” the OP continued. “He was using her before he knew about the show and that he would come into more money and another wife. I don’t think he ever intended to have a fourth wife if the show wasn’t happening – he could barely take care of the wives he did have and children.
