Sister Wives- Who Is Audrey Kriss? (& Their Relationship With Leon Brown)
Leon Brown (formerly Mariah Brown) is the only child of Sister Wives’ stars Kody and Meri Brown, and they are married to their partner, Audrey Kriss. Leon and Audrey met while attending Westminster College. Leon admitted to having a crush on Audrey for a year before they started dating. After two years together, Leon proposed to Audrey in 2019.
While a small part of their relationship has been featured on Sister Wives, Leon and Audrey try to keep their connection out of the Sister Wives spotlight. Together, they share most of their thoughts and experiences on social media, and are advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. Meri has always shown that she is a supportive mother, so when Leon came out as transgender, Meri championed her child and expressed her pride in Leon.

Moreover, Audrey is credited with marketing, branding, and doing all the social media work for Meri’s bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.
Audrey Came Out As Transgender in 2021
They’re Being Who They Want To Be
With an Instagram post in December 2021, Audrey publicly came out as transgender, and said that their pronouns are they/them. Audrey expressed their fear and hesitation about coming out because they were scared of the hate and backlash. However, they also pointed out the positive reasons for taking that step. Saying, “I’m SO happy to be me!,” Audrey also wrote that they were starting to feel more at home in their body. In their Instagram bio, Audrey says that they’re a “subaru queer” who loves sports. Audrey advocates for LGBTQ+ mental health and suicide prevention.
Audrey & Leon Recently Got Married
They’re In Love
After getting engaged in January 2019 during Washington D.C. Pride, Leon and Audrey moved to Denver, Colorado. In October 2022, the pair secretly got married, only days before Leon’s brother Logan Brown’s Arizona wedding. Leon and Audrey regularly express their love and devotion to one another on social media, and often share selfies with captions about each other.
Audrey’s Partner Leon Wants To Open Up More In 2024
This Couple Should Be Proud Of Themselves
Leon‘s transition journey has been a brave one. They grew up in the Sister Wives world, and polygamy is about very outmoded rules. In essence, polygamy is patriarchy in action. Those who believe that men should rule households and have many wives think that this practice is ordained by God. This may be a generalization, but people such as this are highly unlikely to be spotted dancing at Pride parades or leaving positive comments about trans rights on social media. That’s why Leon keeps it low-key sometimes… but not in the inspiring post shown above. Leon wrote:
i’ve been trying to be brave with my words & share more. so i started writing on substack & just shared this piece i’ve been writing for my 29th year around the sun. if you check it out, i appreciate you so much ☀️✨🌱
Leon confronts their fears with so much gusto, really leaning into changing and speaking out. Maybe Audrey gives Leon the strength to fight haters and be authentic online. However, it’s quite possible that Leon was always very strong. In the Brown family, a trans journey is a big deal and Leon did it anyway because it was meant to be. Reportedly, Paedon and Kody Brown didn’t approve. Leon isn’t the biggest fan of Paedon, who can be buffoonish.
Leon Gets Ironic While Posting About “Summertime Sadness”
They’re Super Happy With Audrey
In the post above, Leon celebrated love in the park, sharing a tender moment with their partner. It’s such a victory for Leon to be out and proud like this, and at peace in their body. Audrey feels comfortable too – they are so in tune. After Leon posting the cute pic of them sitting together on a blanket, with Audrey reading and Leon gazing adoringly at her, fans showed their love. No cruel trolls marred the beauty of this moment. Audrey weighed in, leaving the comment:
some cute moments in the sadness 🤍 I really really love you! 🤍
It’s an ultra-modern love story in some respects, but on the other hand, there have always been people who are queer. For as long as there have been human beings, there have been queer human beings. For that reason, this summertime love story is also timeless.
