‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Accused of Scamming Fans
Meri Brown has been accused of scamming the public after launching her latest business venture.
The Sister Wives star teased her latest endeavor in the months since announcing her official split from Kody Brown, in December 2022. She hyped her new project as way to build community among people committed to healing and overall wellness, so fans were excited for the big reveal.
Meri recently launched her “Worthy Up” website, offering members a “safe space” community of people committed to “self-discovery.”
Fans were immediately hit with sticker shock, and had plenty of questions.
Meri’s website reads—“Whether you’re enriching your knowledge or experiencing personal growth, Worthy Up is your safe space to embrace community, celebration, and support on your journey to self-discovery.”
A $99 introductory offer allows members access to exclusive monthly videos, a live Q&A session, insider deals and a members-only mug. The price will eventually increase to $149 for a “limited” lifetime membership.
Confused followers began asking questions about the program’s content and high price tag.
One fan asked — “Yeah like what the heck is a ‘limited lifetime membership’?”
Another wondered — “She has a P.R. person thinking up ways she can get paid by doing the least amount of actual work. ‘Immerse yourself in Meri’s insights and wisdom…’ ah WTF does that even mean?”
Many fans flocked to Reddit to slam Meri’s cryptic feel-good venture.
One user referred to Meri’s past polygamous lifestyle, writing — “I wouldn’t have guessed Meri would be the one to start her own cult.”
Another fan wanted to know — “Does she have some kind of degree or certificate in psychology or experience in mentoring people other than her Sister Wives and kids? It’s a BS money-making scheme just like those stupid 2-minute videos they make for $150 for people.”
A third user quipped — “Bless it. She should’ve written a book. This is so scammy.”
One person wrote — “Still trying to figure out what I’m ’getting’ for 99 bucks (to be $149 soon).”
Another added — “These people live off multi-level marketing type cr*p. Get a real f*cking job.”
Fans have also called out the TLC star for charging jaw-dropping prices to visit her Parowan, Utah bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. The inn’s website outlines options ranging from $4k-$6k for “Supreme” and “Elite Plus” weekend getaways.
One fan wrote — “Six. THOUSAND?!!! DOLLARS??!! What on earth could that include?! I’m genuinely curious.”
Another chimed in — Most of the usa is struggling putting food on the table and buying medicine and getting medical help and u charge this amount?? i use to support u but nah.”
A third referenced Meri’s clothing business, writing — “Just like her LuLaRoe ‘business’. The others are not better with their Plexus either.”
