SISTER Wives star Kody Brown has been behind on nearly $5,000 in taxes on his Arizona property after his successful wives Meri, Christine and Janelle left him.

Kody, 54, owns a $890,000 Flagstaff, Arizona mansion with his remaining wife Robyn, 45, and four parcels of land called Coyote Pass that he planned to build homes on with his now ex-wives.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal Kody owes a total of $4,858.73 in property taxes that were due on November 1, 2023.

According to the Coconino Treasurer, Kody and his former wife Janelle, 54, owe $890.15, including interest, on their Coyote Pass land.

Another plot of Coyote Pass land with Kody, Meri, 52, and Janelle’s name on it is behind $1,246.77, including interest, in taxes.

Kody and Robyn owe $1,292.42 in taxes on their Coyote Pass land, while they also owe $890.15, including interest, for their second plot.

The taxes on Kody and Robyn’s five-bedroom, four-bathroom house that they purchased in 2019 have been paid off.

But they still owe $539.24, including interest, on taxes for a plot of land next to their home.

MARITAL ISSUES

The financial troubles come after Meri, Janelle and Christine, 51, left him in recent years.

The patriarch and his then-wives purchased Coyote Pass in Flagstaff, Arizona for $820,000 in 2018 when the family moved from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kody, who shares 18 children with his wives, planned to split the property into five parcels, as he and his then-four wives could build separate homes, including one for himself.

Janelle still owns the land despite the breakup, as The U.S. Sun previously reported Kody and Janelle paid off the plot of land in their name on June 2, 2023.

The U.S. Sun previously reported Christine signed over the parcel in her name to Kody and Robyn for $10 on July 28, 2022.

Meri also still owns her property and primarily lives in Utah.

Kody continues to live in his $890,000 Flagstaff home with Robyn and the five children they share together.

The U.S. Sun can confirm the family has not begun plans to build on the property yet, as no new permits have been filed.

SUCCESSFUL EXES
Meri, Christine and Janelle have owned successful businesses for years, helping the family financially.

Meri owns Utah bed and breakfast Lizzie’s Heritage Inn and is a top trainer for LuLaRoe, an online clothing boutique.

Christine sells Plexus products along with Janelle, who also owns fitness company Strive.

MOVING ON
Christine announced her split from Kody in November 2021.

She moved to Utah with their daughter, Truely, 13, and announced her engagement to David Woolley in April after just months of dating.

Christine’s marriage with Kody came to an end because she accused him of spending the majority of time with his “favorite” wife Robyn and their kids.

As for Janelle, who announced her split from Kody in December 2022, he accused her of not following his Covid-19 rules and not forcing their children to follow his strict guidelines.

Janelle defended that her family was not given his list of rules and that they followed the CDC’s guidelines.

She also refused to kick their sons out of her home because of their unwillingness to follow the rules, as Kody used that as the reason he stayed with Robyn during the pandemic and after.

When their sons confronted Robyn over not seeing their father, Kody demanded they apologize, causing the family to not be together on Christmas.

Janelle continued post-fight: “It feels like Kody and I are no longer going to be a couple. It was that dramatic. There had been so much build-up. The words were very harsh, but the feeling was, we’re done.

“It took me a half hour to overcome the shock of the conversation. I called him and I said: ‘Come get your stuff.’ In my mind, he’s out of the house.

“He feels like he can’t leave a wife because it’s bad on him… So his pattern seems to be he ignores that person. He wants you to say it’s over because he doesn’t want the responsibility of being the husband who says: ‘I don’t want to be married anymore.’”

As for Meri, she announced her split from Kody in January.

Kody has been honest about wanting to be just friends with Meri for years, but she has stayed in Flagstaff to work on their marriage.

The current season is following Meri finally leaving Kody.

On January 10, 2023, Meri shared an official joint statement with Kody about their divorce saying: “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.

“During this process, we are committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family, and we are also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace, and love.”
