Meri Brown from Sister Wives has a new boyfriend, Amos Andrews, who’s just as bad as Kody Brown. This new relationship will likely end soon.
Sister Wives star Meri Brown has fallen in love again, but it likely won’t last because she has ignored the red flags again. The 53-year-old reality star was previously married to her polygamous beau, Kody Brown. She cared for him and followed him around for three decades despite his toxic attitude. Meri did everything she could for Kody, from allowing him to marry Christine, Janelle, and Robyn Brown to letting him dictate in the family. However, the Brown family patriarch never reciprocated and only did things to hurt her back. He melted Meri’s ring, stopped being intimate with her, and even asked her to move to his barn.
Meri continued her marriage with Kody even when he legally divorced her to marry Robyn. She stayed with him, hoping he would fall back in love with her one day. Unfortunately, that day never came, pushing the Brown family matriarch to pursue love elsewhere. In 2015, Meri tried her luck with someone online, who turned out to be a catfish. She overlooked the signs and innocently fell for the person, worsening whatever was between her and Kody. In 2023, Meri decided to quit her plural marriage and move away from polygamy finally. She chose to end her spiritual marriage to Kody and build a relationship with a divorcee named Amos Andrews.
Amos Has Been Married Four Times
Meri has desperately craved love for 30 years, which may be why she can’t see that her new boyfriend is just as bad as her former husband. The former Brown family matriarch’s new lover has a shady history with past relationship failures. According to The U.S. Sun, Amos was previously married to four women in distinct monogamous relationships. He was with Tracy Smith Lang, with whom he shares a son and a daughter. When the marriage didn’t work out, he tied the knot with Shannon, with whom he welcomed his daughter, Tiffany. From the late 90s to the first two decades of the 2000s, Amos married two other women but couldn’t make either relationship work.
Kody is much like Amos, if not better. Therefore, it’s surprising that Meri decided to date Amos, knowing he has had four divorces. She should’ve known better than to fall for another man who couldn’t build lasting relationships in the past. She should’ve at least compared him to her former husband and wondered why the other women may have left him. It looks like Meri has moved out of one toxic relationship and moved into another. While it may not be apparent yet, things could change anytime. She may not be able to make her latest relationship work.
Amos Filed For Bankruptcy In 2000
Financial complications are some of the biggest red flags. Kody has been through some tough situations, which was a big sign for all the Sister Wives to leave him. He has also been very shady with money, especially related to real estate. In Sister Wives season 18, Kody told Meri she would get the smallest piece of the Coyote Pass. He purposely tried to give her a little portion, knowing she couldn’t do anything else. Ideally, Kody should’ve equally divided the land between all four of his wives. However, he decided to act horribly, which became another reason Meri left him.
While Meri may feel secure with Amos, he may be just as bad as Kody regarding finances. According to The U.S. Sun, Amos filed for bankruptcy over 20 years ago. He was with one of his former wives then, and things just didn’t go smoothly between the two. Recently, Meri shared that she doesn’t care that Amos has had a bankruptcy in the past because “things happen, and you just build your way out of it. It doesn’t define who you are.”
All Of Amos’ Marriages Have Been Short-Lived
Amos is also worse than Kody in some regards. The Sister Wives star has had three divorces but still maintained longer relationships with his wives. He married Meri in the 1990s and spent over three decades with her. Similarly, he stayed with Christine and Meri for nearly 30 years and only gave up on them when they quit. The polygamous man now has one wife, Robyn, who he has been with for almost fifteen years. Kody did say some unforgivable things about his wives, but he was the family’s patriarch. Kody maintained long marriages, partially because of his religion and polygamy.
Amos has been through four divorces. However, the worst bit is that all his relationships have been extremely short and fruitless. Amos’ first and second marriages lasted for a very short period. His third marriage lasted two years, and the fourth lasted less than five. One of Amos’ exes has accused him of “controlling” behavior and having an “obsession” with reality TV.
Meri has gone completely blind to Amos and doesn’t see that he can’t build a decent relationship. She may regret dating him once the problems become more evident to her.
Meri Is Overlooking Red Flags (Just Like She Did With Kody)
Meri has a positive outlook on the world. She has an optimistic personality and stays hopeful about most things in life. Unfortunately, her sweet personality is also a curse to her, as it stops her from making logical decisions on time. Meri married Kody in the 90s and allowed him to start polygamy. She didn’t mind sharing him with other wives, thinking it was the right thing to do. As evident, Meri’s niceness cost her when Kody stopped caring for her. He became more interested in Robyn and ignored her. Kody even legally divorced Meri for Robyn and melted her ring. Yet, she stayed with him, thinking things would change.
Meri is repeating the same mistake she made with Kody. She’s unwilling to see the red flags or try to think about her future logically with a man who has had so many failures. After spending three decades with a man in a hopeless marriage, the middle-aged woman has gotten into a relationship with a similar man with a far worse relationship history. She doesn’t want to admit that she has made a bad choice. Meri may wish to think Amos is her soulmate, just like Christine found her soulmate in David Woolley. However, the Sister Wives cast member may be rushing into her first new relationship after divorce.
