Sister Wives Season 19 Features a Scary ATV Accident: Everything We Know About the Incident so Far
The Brown family continues to crumble during Sister Wives season 19. TLC released the midseason trailer on November 25, 2024, and fans were glued to their TVs when a scary ATV accident was displayed. In Touch breaks down everything we know about the incident.
‘Sister Wives’ Season 19 ATV Accident
Tensions rose to a head during the midseason trailer amid Kody Brown’s splits from Janelle Brown, Meri Brown and Christine Brown, as he navigated monogamy with wife Robyn Brown.
At the end of the trailer, Kody and Robyn rode their ATVs in the woods and had a deep talk about the future of their relationship during a pit stop. The family patriarch asked Robyn if she would “accept” him as a monogamous partner. The audio cut to a separate confessional clip, in which Robyn said, “It’s not what I wanted.”
“This is the end of our family. Right here, right now,” Kody said in a separate confessional.
The frame then cut to a scene of Kody and someone else riding their ATVs before someone crashed over a sand hill.
It’s unclear who the victim of the accident was. However, that didn’t stop fans from sharing their theories in the comments section of the post.
“The 4 wheeler thing was funny but they definitely need to learn how to drive them. We’ve had them for years & they drive like they don’t have eyes!” one fan wrote.
A second person believed the victim to be Robyn, writing, “Robin [sic] on the 4-wheeler.”
Dayton Brown’s Previous ATV Accident
This isn’t the first time a member of the Brown family lost control of an ATV. In fact, Robyn’s son Dayton, who has Asperger Syndrome and was previously adopted by Kody, also suffered an accident while operating the vehicle and permanently injured his face.
“Two years ago, Dayton was out of town visiting some friends and he got into an an ATV accident. He had to go into surgery and it’s a pretty intense surgery. They had to clean out all of the debris, they had to stitch his face back up,” Robyn explained during a 2015 episode of Sister Wives. “Basically, they had to repair his eyelid and into his hair and stuff. And it was really traumatic.”
Robyn applauded her son for being “brave” before Kody shared his side of Dayton’s injury.
The couple has maintained their story over the years. However, Christine and Kody’s daughter Mykelti Brown claimed that her step-brother’s injury happened in the presence of her dad.
In 2023, blogger Without a Crystal Ball shared a clip of Mykelti answering fan questions, including one asking about Dayton’s eye.
“He was with dad, my dad,” Mykelti said in the video. “So, that big accident that happened was over a Thanksgiving trip.”
Mykelti said that Dayton and Kody went to see two men named George and Chris.
“[George] invited my family up for Thanksgiving. So my family went, he had a couple of four-wheelers and they went out four-wheeling,” she continued. “Dad was out with him four-wheeling and the actual person that found Dayton after that accident happened was Hunter [Brown].”
The family has yet to react to Mykelti’s version of the story.
