Do we have any backstory on how they (Robyn and Kody) pulled that off?
I’m sorry, but there is just no mother-effing way Meri just magically came up with that idea on her own and decided it was best.
There was obvious manipulation that took place and probably over a period of time. Meri looked so devastated about the whole thing from start to finish. There’s not a single piece of me that thinks she wanted to do that or came up with that.
Additionally, I think kody and Robyn had more reason for wanting that than just for the sake of the kids. I’m sure it included the fact that they are true soulmates and that’s how it “always should’ve been.” (God I wish I could be a fly on their wall through the years).
I think that is so calculating and seedy of them to get into Meri’s head and have her do something thinking that she’s being so selfless and noble. And now years down the line, they exile Meri and don’t even let her see the kids she sacrificed for. No wonder Christine felt unsafe, anyone with sense couldve seen the red flags billowing in the wind and the writing on the wall.
Anyway, do any of us have any further details about how they got Meri to agree to that?
In 2014, Sister Wives stars Meri and Kody got a legal divorce so Robyn could become his legal wife and he could adopt her three children from her first marriage. Behind closed doors, cracks in their marriage began to show. Fans have started to question if there was more behind the divorce than just the adoption with the reasoning being quite valid. Could Kody and Meri have been planning the divorce for a while and are using Robyn as a cover story? How about the fact that Meri and Kody haven’t had an intimate relationship for over a decade. The couple did get together when they were pretty young, so it could be that Kody took on the undertaking of having a plural family before he was emotionally capable of handling one. But then fertility issues plagued the two, which led to strain and jealousy within the marriage and between Meri and the other wives. Another underlying reason could be the fact that Meri has expressed dreams of opening her own bed and breakfast business that Kody never supported. Her break from the marriage could be how she built up the courage to finally get Lizzie’s Heritage Inn up and running. But lest we forget the catfishing scandal that rocked the entire family. Could it be that Meri was already seeking love outside of her marriage before the divorce? Whatever the real reason may be, it has us all questioning if they can keep up the facade that it was done for Robyn and her kids.
