Sister Wives’ Meri Brown holds back tears as she slams Christine for ‘forcing’ her to share shocking story about ex Kody
SISTER Wives star Meri Brown has been left choking back tears as she bashed Christine Brown for sharing her personal business.
During the reunion special, the TLC star reflected on a shocking moment during Meri and ex Kody’s marriage.
During Sunday’s Sister Wives tell-all special part two, Christine, 51, was asked about her ex Kody’s new wedding ring, which he’s been spotted wearing as of late.
She laughed, saying, “That’s so funny,” before sharing more details.
“That’s because there’s a backstory here. I don’t feel like it’s all the way my place, but here we are,” she began.
“So, Kody and Meri had a wedding ring. Robyn was in the picture, I don’t know if they were married quite yet. He melted down the ring. Saved the gold, saved the diamonds. Well, Meri found out. She’s like, ‘Where’s my ring? You don’t wear it anymore.’ And he was like, ‘Oh, I melted it down.’ Just like that.”
Christine suggested that she was stunned by Kody’s behavior, making a shocked face.
She went on: “He was like, ‘I didn’t want Meri to have control over me and power over me anymore.’ I’m like, it’s still your wedding ring. It’s what you’ve had for 15 – however many years.
“So we all got together and we got him a ring and we bought him a ring together. It was a Claddagh ring. We all went in on the design, the four of us, we got him a ring and that’s what he wore for a long time and then he designed his own ring with Robyn.”
After Christine shared her story, the screen went black and showed only a message.
It read: “Shortly after the One on One interviews, Meri learned that Christine had shared the story about Kody’s first wedding ring.”
Meri, 52, appeared on stage alone and was visibly emotional.
She shook her head as she held back tears, occasionally closing her eyes.
“I am extremely frustrated right now,” she began.
A furious Meri continued: “After we did the taping for the one-on-on interviews with Suki [Waterhouse], I found out that a story was brought up about me that is not a story that I have ever shared publicly that is my story to tell when, where, and how I want to.
“And somebody else took it upon themselves to tell that story and now I’m being forced to talk about it and I’m not happy about it. It was not Christine’s business to tell.”
She added: “She can laugh about it all she wants but it was not her business to tell. If I wanted to have shared that story in the past 13 years in a public way, I would have done that.”
DISHING THE DIRT
While Meri’s big reveal was perhaps the most personal, it was not the only personal conversation had during the Sister Wives tell-all.
Janelle Brown was asked to set the record straight about her relationship status during the show.
Rumors have been swirling that she’s dating someone new following her split from Kody.
Speaking with ET Online ahead of the episode, Janelle revealed that she is “still not” dating anyone.
She added that while she’s enjoyed watching Christine find love, she’s not there yet.
The reality TV personality explained: “My children are my thing, right? I’m really wrapped up and focused on them. I’m trying now to bring some of the things I’ve always wanted to fruition. So that’s where my passion and my energy is lying right now – with my children and some of these projects I’m trying to bring forward.”
Janelle added: “I sort of feel like if I were to meet somebody it would have to be super organic.”
She also shared during the interview that Christine tried to lend a helping hand, offering her another option for finding love.
She laughed as she said: “Christine called, she was like, ‘Do you wanna use my matchmaker? I was like, ‘No.'”
Recently-married Christine revealed: “I had a cred. I didn’t use all of the dates.”
The star noted that while she thinks Janelle is “a catch,” she knows she is “also bad a** independent.”
She confirmed that she’s not putting any pressure on Janelle to start dating again.
Months after her own split from Kody in 2021, Christine revealed that she found love again.
She debuted her relationship with David Woolley on Valentine’s Day in 2023.
The couple tied the knot in October 2023.
TOTALLY JEALOUS
Janelle and Christine’s joint interview followed comments from their ex-husband Kody that revealed that he’s “jealous” of their close bond.
He shared the comment in an interview with a presenter in a confessional.
The polygamist TV personality say opposite the host as he dished the details.
He began: “She never once expressed any empathy towards me.”
The host, Sukanya Krishnan, then asked: “During the divorce?”
Kody replied: “Nope. Never.”
They appeared to be discussing the split between Christine and Kody.
The father-of-14 continued: “[Janelle] sided with Christine, and with that her and I just gradually unwound to this point.”
Asked why he thought Christine didn’t express any sympathy for him during his divorce from Janelle, he looked stunned.
“I don’t think she’s capable of it. It’s weird to me that she wouldn’t just say, ‘That’s just so sad, that’s so hard,’ or whatever,” he said.
The interviewer laughed slightly as she asked: “Are you jealous that they’re talking to each other now?”
“I’m jealous because they’re behaving the way they should’ve for 25 years now. Yeah, I see it as a big F U Kody,” he explained.
“It’s like, ‘We’re going to get along now because this will really p**s Kody off.”
