Sister Wives: Is Gabriel Brown Still Feuding With Kody? (Their Troubled Relationship Explained)

Kody Brown and Gabriel Brown’s feud has been a major Sister Wives theme for years and it looks like the father and son might still be estranged.

Sister Wives’ Kody Brown and his son Gabriel are still estranged after feuding for years. During a recent Sister Wives season 18 episode, Kody visited his daughter Savannah Brown at his ex-wife Janelle Brown’s home. The couple, who share six kids; Logan, Hunter, Gabriel, Garrison, Madison, and Savanah, announced their separation in December 2020. One of the things that contributed to their divorce was Kody’s estranged relationship with his kids.

While Kody has been mending his relationship with Savanah, the patriarch has been unable to mend fences with his sons Gabriel and Garrison. Despite having an excellent relationship with his sons Gabriel and Garrison once, Kody spoke of his sadness about not being in touch with the duo. Nonetheless, he spoke of his wish his sons would once again feel safe around him. Kody sadly admitted Gabriel and Garrison had refused to engage with him. Despite the evident sadness on Kody’s face, he has no one but himself to blame.

Gabriel Brown Complained About Kody Brown In Sister Wives Season 18

During his appearance in Sister Wives season 18, Gabe confirmed that his relationship with Kody hasn’t been the same since the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that Kody paid no attention to his and older brother Garrison’s pleas about their discontent with the strict lockdown rules he enforced. The duo’s relationship broke when Kody called Gabriel on October 11, 2021, and forgot it was his 20th birthday.

Instead, Kody quizzed Gabriel about his experience with COVID-19, and in return, Gabriel refused to remind Kody it was his birthday and wanted to see if he remembered. Gabriel was so disappointed in Kody that he broke down in tears in front of the camera during his confessional. Gabriel drew further away from Kody before eventually breaking all communications with him.

Kody Brown’s Strict COVID-19 Rules Changed His Dynamic With Gabe (& With Janelle)

Kody’s relationship with his son Gabriel became problematic during Sister Wives season 16 when Kody enforced strict COVID-19 rules, including wearing public masks, sanitizing and washing hands, disinfecting groceries, and no movie theaters, bars, fitness centers, or restaurants. Some of the rules were deemed excessive by Janelle and her sons, Gabriel and Garrison. Gabe couldn’t understand why the family had to quarantine separately after he wasn’t allowed into his mother’s house after he visited his girlfriend.

Due to Gabriel and Garrison’s reluctance to follow the rules, Kody implored Janelle to kick them out, but she refused. Afterward, she also decided to go to her daughter Aspen’s home in Utah for Thanksgiving when she couldn’t quarantine enough for Meri and Robyn’s Thanksgiving. Kody then tried to guilt-trip Janelle about traveling for Thanksgiving and asked her to respect the bigger picture to keep the kids safe. Janelle, who was having none of it, unsurprisingly told him to “f*ck off.”

Kody’s preferential treatment of Robyn and her kids has been a significant theme in Sister Wives for years. Kody chose to live with Robyn and her kids while he became estranged from his other wives and their kids. While the other wives and their kids struggled with dismal living conditions, Kody Robyn and their kids lived in a $900,000 home. One of the most obvious displays of preferential treatment was Kody’s refusal to buy Savanah a Christmas gift while he showered Robyn and her kids with gifts. Kody has a lot of blame to shoulder, and giving more attention and money to his kids with Robyn is one of them.
