Kody Brown Controlling Producers, Fans Livid
Season 19 of Sister Wives kicked off on Sunday, September 15th and there was a lot to unpack. The OG3 wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown Woolley have officially left Kody Brown. He is now solely with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown and they are trying to manage being monogamous. More so, they are attempting to figure out how to interact with the ex-wives and what to do with the life they used to have. It also showed how distant Kody is from his kids which was very sad. He had no idea about what was going on with some of his children and all he could do was awkwardly laugh.
Kody learned that Christine and Janelle were helping Ysabel Brown move from North Carolina to Utah. It made him uncomfortably chuckle but he had no idea that was happening. Then, Janelle explained that her daughter, Maddie Brown Brush, with whom Ysabel had lived with, no longer spoke to Kody. She said Maddie was done with him being inconsistent and when Kody was asked about his daughter, he turned his nose up and declared he didn’t want to talk about her.
Fans noticed this and how he behaved, beginning a Reddit thread about Kody Brown. The OP wrote this:
- So Kootie won’t discuss Madison. Kootie won’t talk about Meri. Why do the producers let him get away with this? He’s being paid to talk about these things, I don’t understand it. Sobyn will sit there and spill her guts, giving her biased “fillins” and thoughts, but Kootie doesn’t have to talk about anything he doesn’t want to.
So, did either Sister Wives viewers agree with this assessment?
That Was Weird
Sister Wives fans did feel that Kody Brown’s behavior was weird. They felt there was so much more he should and could have said that many would have appreciated. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, production or otherwise, he did not and followers were quite expressive about their thoughts:
- I thought this was really weird…. If he won’t discuss anything then what is the point of the show anymore? I’m not saying he’s obligated to spill EVERYTHING that happens in his life but as the “star” of a reality tv show, he should be obligated to give us something especially if it relates to what has been filmed?
- I think there is an ulterior motive by production. Last night, he came out looking like a real a**hat. I think they finally want to out him for what he really is- a malignant narcissist.
- If they are paying him… answer the question or no check!
There was also the suggestion that he could have handled the Maddie situation in a far better manner. He could have said that she was not on the show so he was protecting her privacy. It seems fans are unclear if production is protecting Kody or finally showing his true colors. Moreover, they do not understand the point of the series if he won’t be honest when this is reality.
