‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Breaks Silence About His Breakdown
In the trailer and previews for Sister Wives Season 18, Kody Brown seemed angry but did he suffer a breakdown and seek therapy? The patriarch, just ahead of the premiere, seems like a very different person, and he admitted that his life had been dark and challenging.
Kody Brown Takes A U-Turn On Plural Marriage After Breakdown?
In Seasons 16 and 17, Sister Wives fans saw the patriarch of the family in towering rages. Now, in the trailer for Season 18, he seems incredibly angry. In fact, previews showed him yelling again, slamming things, and storming off. In real life though, he seems completely different, Bear in mind, Christine left him in November 2021. So, the show actually airs a long time after the events took place.
Kody Brown lost three out of four wives and nowadays, only Robyn is with him. And as Garrison said in the trailer, she “can have him.” One thing that TLC fans know is that he’s a very proud man who often came over as narcissistic and arrogant. So, many people wondered why Janelle, Meri, and Christine actually all got so jealous of his attention. Recently, he’s been speaking out and his entire perspective seems to have changed. perhaps he had some sort of breakdown to bring him, into a new place?
Robyn plays stupid so well ! it is like second nature to her by now…she didnt KNOW that there were any problems with Christine and Kody? who buys that bs? #SisterWives

Kody Brown Hit The Bottom
Hitting the bottom usually means a very low point in people’s lives. Robyn’s husband said that he “hit the bottom of a very deep pool.” Additionally, he talked about only now “reaching for the surface” again. Speaking in an Interview with People, he talked about “heartbreak,” being broken, and depressed. In retrospect, he now believes that he could have done a lot more to save his marriages. And he thinks “every single day” of instances where his actions could have been different and brought a more positive outcome.
Kody Brown won’t consider looking for a new wife to replace any of those that departed. As he said, when he was young, he had the “confidence” that polygamy could work for him. However, now that he experienced so many challenges, the dissolution of his family took away that confidence. It’s only now that he feels a bit of “self-confidence” returning. No TLC fans need to be told that this man sounds very different from the one that they watched for many years on the show.
Grace And Forgiveness
Kody Brown talked about “grace” and “daily forgiveness.” Additionally, he also talked about “forgiveness” towards himself and forgiveness for the wives. In fact, listening to him, it seems that he might have gone for counseling with the elders of the church. Or perhaps he had a breakdown, and he’s been talking with a therapist. While marriage guidance and therapy never helped him and Meri resolve their differences, he hadn’t hit rock bottom. Sometimes, people need to hit the bottom to examine their hearts.
What are your thoughts about what the TLC star said in his interview? Do you agree that it seems as if he talked through a breakdown with a therapist? Did he admit to that in his description of his journey from darkness into grace? Let us know in the comments below.
