Sister Wives star Janelle Brown is on a journey of self-discovery lately. Now that she’s no longer living polygamy in Flagstaff, she’s free to explore her own hobbies and interests.
This year alone, Janelle has launched her own t-shirt business and started Taeda Farms with her daughter Maddie. And on top of that, Maddie is expecting again, so Janelle will have another grandchild before long.
But even with a full plate, the TLC star is excited to take on another challenge.
Janelle Brown Takes Up Genealogy
It’s not immediately clear when Janelle will have time to work on her new project, but she’s delighted nevertheless. In a new social media post, the Sister Wives star revealed she was now her family’s genealogist.
On her own, Janelle has six children. It’s going to take a lot of hard work to sort through and document all her relatives, but she’s up to the challenge.
“Very recently I was handed a unique gift. This binder represents my great aunt’s life work with our family’s history,” Janelle shared with her Instagram followers. “She maintained a family email for a family that has spread far and wide over 4 generations.
Sadly she passed away this year but we had always planned for her to hand the torch to me. I have always had a passion for uncovering, preserving and celebrating my family’s history and this is my work now 🩷. I’ll be sharing this journey as I learn, organize and grow. #FamilyHistory #genealogy”
Janelle’s Instagram audience found the new project incredibly exciting. Many shared well-wishes for the TLC star, including:
- “I’m the genealogist in my family too, love finding ancestors and piecing together my family history❤️”
- “What an amazing treasure to receive! Happy Holidays Janelle ❤️”
- “That is awesome ❤️ I think it’s important to know where we came from”
- “I love looking into family history – this will be such a fun adventure for you ❤️”
The TLC Star May Reconnect With Her Family Members
In a recent Sister Wives episode, Janelle sadly described how lonely she found her wedding to Kody. Her devout LDS family didn’t approve of her choice to join polygamy, so no one but her mother attended.
Now that the reality star is no longer with Kody, this may give her a chance to reconnect with some family members.
