‘Sister Wives’ Christine Brown Felt Betrayed By Free Speech?
Did Sister Wives star Christine Brown feel betrayed by free speech? She has spent the last two-plus years trying to rebuild her life after leaving her husband, Kody Brown. It has not been easy but it has certainly paid off. Christine found the love of her life and is smiling like never before. Yet, was there a time when she was not a big proponent of freedom of speech in her life? Read on for more details.
Sister Wives Christine Brown Felt Betrayed By Free Speech?
When Christine Brown left the plural family in early 2021, she was very firm in her decision. She knew that she no longer wanted to be with Kody. More so, it really seemed that polygamy was just not the right lifestyle for her anymore as she had questioned it for some time. Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown gave her trouble about leaving, claiming she was not officially divorced until she went to the church and asked for a divorce. Christine argued that she had not been a part of that church for a long time therefore she did not need anyone to validate her singledom.
Now, a clip from the earlier seasons of Sister Wives has resurfaced via Reddit. In it, the family is getting ready to head to a debate where they will explain why they believe polygamy is right. Yet, at the beginning of the clip, Christine Brown’s aunt blatantly calls polygamy dysfunctional. This does not sit well with Christine at all as she believes her aunt is against her, her family, and her religion. Plus, she does not like that her aunt feels comfortable vocalizing her disdain for it all.
Christine ultimately says that she does not want to have anything to do with her aunt. Yet, did Christine actually struggle with the fact that her aunt was speaking up for what she believed in? It was okay when Christine did it and wanted to leave polygamy, she was very verbal then. However, how come her aunt could not express how she felt and that be okay, as well? Redditors had some thoughts about how Christine should maybe try to make amends for that situation.
Solving The Problems
The OP of the post had a solution for Christine Brown. “There’s a lot here. I feel Christine was defending this practice so much but she knew deep down it was wrong and if Meri owes her a humble apology, then she owes her aunt a humble apology.” Another sided with Christine’s aunt and how she had Kody’s number from the beginning. It looks like once Christine found her voice, she finally understood the value of free speech and nothing has stopped her since.
Do you think that Christine wanted to believe so firmly in the life that she was living that she would say and do anything? Let us know and watch Sister Wives August 20th on TLC.
