General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and those closest to him remain in grave danger. The explosive device at Sonny’s penthouse was meant to take him out, but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) paid the price.
Of course, that means there could be a repeat attack if the foe behind this explosion tries to finish Sonny off. Sonny has no way of knowing when his enemy will strike again or how they’ll go about it the next time around.
However, it seems certain that there’ll indeed be a next time!
It wouldn’t make sense for someone to go to the trouble of planting an explosive device and then just give up when it failed to eliminate Sonny.
Unfortunately, there’s room for more unanticipated victims as this storyline moves along.
Could someone else close to Sonny get injured or even killed as a result of the next attack?
In the January 21 episode, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will sound the alarm to Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) and try to convince her that Sonny is too dangerous to be around right now.
Soaps often use ominous conversations like that to set the stage for fatal outcomes, so could Natalia be a goner?
If the show wanted a shocking demise to raise the stakes even more, Natalia would be a great fit.
Let’s be honest and point out that Natalia really doesn’t add much to the canvas.
Natalia is someone who lifts right out, so it’s not like her fatal outcome would leave some gaping hole in the cast.
There wouldn’t be much fan backlash either since plenty of GH watchers want Natalia off the show anyway.
Eva LaRue is a great actress, but Natalia has just never clicked with many viewers – not to mention Natalia and Sonny leave a lot to be desired as a romantic pairing.
Perhaps when Sonny inevitably gets targeted again, Natalia could get wiped out by mistake.
The show could get some good drama out of that and add to Sonny’s guilt over a terrible situation that’s getting even worse.
Between what happened to Michael and what might happen to Natalia, Sonny would certainly realize how important it is to identify the threat and get rid of it permanently.
