Michael Exit Details Leak, Chad Duell’s Departure – Co-Head Writers Spill ‘Shocking Act of Violence’
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that some additional info is coming to light about a major Port Charles departure. GH fans have probably heard by now that Chad Duell is leaving the role of Michael Corinthos, so his final scenes are coming up in the new year.
Of course, viewers are eager to see how Michael will exit the canvas, especially since GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini shut down the idea that they’d be recasting anytime soon.
Although it’s possible someone could take over the role of Michael somewhere down the line, that’s obviously not happening right now.
Michael’s getting an actual exit instead, so let’s talk about some new hints.
TV Insider recently spoke with Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, the co-head writers who have penned Michael’s exit strategy.
Although Van Etten and Korte didn’t offer any confirmation on how Michael will depart the show, they did provide some intriguing clues.
For starters, Korte and Van Etten indicated that Michael will prepare for battle following Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew Quartermaine’s (Cameron Mathison) betrayal, but then things will take a stunning turn.
“He’s ready to fight back — when a shocking act of violence has his plans go up in smoke,” Van Etten and Korte teased.
The question is: Will Michael be the victim of this violent act or the one who perpetrates it?
It’s possible Michael could get tangled up in Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) storyline and land in some danger.
There’s even a chance Michael could get pulled into some Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) chaos or even some upcoming mob drama that’ll be playing out in Port Charles.
However, there are also reasons to believe Michael and Drew might be gearing up for a confrontation that goes horribly wrong.
Another portion of Korte and Van Etten’s interview indicates that Willow’s commitment to Drew will face a “grave test,” so what if that’s related to Michael’s exit?
Maybe Michael and Drew will get into a physical fight that ends with Michael taking a terrible tumble and landing in a coma or something along those lines.
How would Willow feel about Drew if he did something like that to the father of her children?
Then again, it might be Michael’s own “act of violence” that puts Drew in jeopardy and lands Michael in prison or on the run.
The grave test coming up for Drew and Willow could be her worrying about hospitalized Drew’s fight to survive.
Regardless, it’s nice to see some new details leak about Michael’s exit.
