‘MBFFL’ Whitney Way Thore, 41, Reveals Artificial Insemination Route

Series star Whitney Way Thore already has a big announcement for fans: she is planning to have a child through artificial insemination. My Big Fat Fabulous Life revolves around Whitney Way Thore, who first came to fame after appearing in a viral YouTube video. The series recently finished its twelfth season this past September.
The TLC series is set to return with Season 13 this July. TLC has since released a trailer teasing what fans can expect.
As TLC shared in the caption, “Whitney is ready for a fresh start and has big plans! New season, new friends, new possibilities.”
The clip opened up with Thore narrating, “This season on My Big Fat Fabulous Life.” Looking at some of her old baby clothes, including her first Halloween costume, Thore shared, “Since I turned 40, it’s really got me thinking about the bigger things that I want in my life.”
The video then shows MBFFL star Thore make a big announcement. “I’m going to pursue artificial insemination.” When told that she would need help raising a child, Thore assured, “No, you don’t.” She continued, “I’m coming up on my 41st birthday. There’s no more time to wait here.”
The clip then cut to Thore looking up sperm donors with pictures. Curious about the situation, she then asked, “I don’t have to take this person to dinner first? I just buy their sperm?” This caused her to joke that she loves “online shopping.” As Thore continued, “If I want a child, I have got to take this by the reins. And do it myself.”

As the clip went on, more of what to expect from the upcoming season was teased. Thore found her friend group was in danger of dissolving. As she put it, “I am in a rut here in Greensboro and I’m not happy.” Thore, however, had a solution. As she announced, “So this is how I feel. We take a girls’ trip.”
This wasn’t the only big plan Thore had in store. After making some new friends in Salem, she shared another announcement: she signed a lease and was planning on moving. Of course, family and friends then showed concern about what this could mean for the new baby.
The clip then focused on a scene of Thore reading a pregnancy test. As she put it, “My life could be turned upside down in a manner of moments. I’m scared.”
Previously on MBFFL, Thore had attempted to have a child through a surrogate. However, these plans fell through when a doctor revealed Whitney’s friend, Heather Sykes, who she chose as a surrogate, wasn’t a good candidate.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life will return for Season 13 on July 1, 2025. The season will premiere at 9 ET.
