Kody Brown from Sister Wives hasn’t been the best father to some of his children, and his parenting practices continue to be unconventional. He entered into a polygamous marriage after marrying his first wife, Meri Brown, in 1990. He added Janelle Brown in 1993, Christine Brown in 1994, and Robyn Brown in 2010 to his family. Kody’s first child, Logan Taylor, was born to him and Janelle in 1994, followed by Aspyn and Leon to Christine and Meri the following year. Over time, Kody welcomed 12 more children and also adopted three of Robyn’s children from her previous marriage.
Initially, Kody cared for all his children with love, doing his best to support his first three wives in raising their 13 children. Unfortunately, his behavior changed after marrying Robyn. Kody became overly obsessed and focused on her, neglecting his responsibilities to his other three wives. This led to arguments with Meri, Christine, and Janelle on separate occasions and strained relationships with some of his older sons, such as Paedon and Gwendlyn Brown. Eventually, Kody’s actions caused his family to fall apart, with all of his wives except Robyn leaving him between 2021 and 2023.
Kody’s Estrangement From Paedon Tells A Story
Kody has had conflicts with several of his children over the past decade. One of his most significant disputes is with his son, Paedon, which has been ongoing for some time. Kody and Paedon don’t get along because they have differing views.
Kody also hasn’t made a lot of effort to showcase his care for his son. Kody has caused Paedon to despise him by mistreating his mother, Christine. Their feud intensified when Kody, as the Brown family patriarch, implemented strict rules and restrictions for his entire family during COVID-19.
Kody’s Not Getting Along With Mykelti Either
Kody has also had a difficult relationship with some of his daughters. However, not many expected him to have a falling out with Mykelti Brown, who once had a strong bond with him.
Recently, Kody hurt Mykelti Brown by allowing his adopted daughter, Aurora Alice, to get her ears pierced before she turned 18. Mykelti said the situation upset her because Kody didn’t let her do the same. She mentioned he never went with any of his daughters to get their ears pierced. Kody also had a feud with Mykelti when she supported her mother, Christine, during her divorce.
Kody’s Had Other Feuds With His Kids
Kody hasn’t equally parented all his kids. He had favored his children with Robyn, neglecting his other thirteen children.
In recent years, Kody has shown favoritism by buying Robyn’s children expensive Christmas gifts while not showing the same love to his other children. Kody hasn’t supported many of his children, including Leon. He chose not to attend Ysabel’s surgery during the pandemic, showing selfishness. According to Janelle (via TLC), Kody’s biggest parenting issue is his inability to relate to his older kids. She previously shared that the Sister Wives star is much better at being a father to younger children.
