Sister Wives star Christine Brown ended her spiritual marriage with Kody after 25 years. However, she filed a lawsuit against Kody for Child Custody, Parent Time, and Support for the sake of her youngest daughter’s future. The TLC star asked for her daughter’s paternity test to prove that Kody was her father in court because they never legally married. Christine wanted to include her ex’s name on their daughter’s birth certificate to get child support.
The TLC star also wanted the court to give Kody a proper visitation schedule for Truely. Moreover, Christine filed a Domestic Relations Injunction so they couldn’t harass or demean each other outside court. Kody has finally hired a lawyer to fight the case against his ex-wife in court. Sister Wives stars Christine and Kody parted ways on a bad note. The latter accused his ex-wife of the fallout of his polygamous family. He even blamed her for encouraging Janelle to split with him. The TLC star wasn’t ready to take on any responsibilities of Truely. Hence, Christine filed a petition to secure her daughter’s future. She didn’t want any disputes in the future and wanted her daughter to get her father’s love.
She hired a lawyer for custody, paternity, and child support for her youngest daughter. The TLC star is set to face off against her ex-husband for a case management conference. As per The Ashleys, Christine and Kody have to attend the conference on December 18. However, they don’t have to be physically present at the court date in Utah.
They don’t have to face each other in person as the proceeding will take place virtually. Moreover, TLC cannot film the court proceedings on the show. The court document states, “Court proceedings, including electronic proceedings, may not be recorded, photographed or transmitted. Kody and Christine may face contempt of court and jail time if they don’t comply with the rules.
Christine has filed for a paternity test in the petition to prove that Truely is Kody’s biological daughter. Fans have yet to find out if Kody will take the paternity test.
