The past continues to come back to haunt Kody Brown of TLC’s Sister Wives. In recent chatter on Reddit, fans of the reality TV family have done a bit of digging into Kody’s past. Furthermore, fans have also dove back into the series and rewatched some older episodes. As a result, fans have made a shocking discovery. Kody Brown more or less confirmed that he loved Robyn’s son Dayton more than Christine’s daughter Ysabel. How did he make this shocking confirmation exactly? Keep reading for the details.
Kody Brown Confirms Loving Dayton More
Back in Season 8 of Sister Wives, Kody and Robyn Brown were gearing up for Dayton to have plastic surgery to fix his eyelid. Kody was extremely involved in helping Robyn find the best plastic surgeon for the job. Sister Wives fans admit they can only assume the procedure must’ve cost a pretty penny. For Robyn, however, nothing was too expensive for Kody. Sadly, fans were also reminded that Kody arrived at Robyn’s house first thing in the morning to be present and available for Dayton and Robyn during his surgery.
Years later when the pandemic was in full swing, it became extremely important for Ysabel to have major surgery on her back. Naturally, fans assume this was an equally expensive procedure. Unlike Dayton’s situation, Kody was seemingly uninvolved in the entire process. He didn’t step up to help pick the best surgeon for the job. Likewise, he couldn’t even be bothered to show up to support Ysabel during the surgery.
Sister Wives fans were heartbroken as they watched Ysabel crumble to tears as she told the cameras she needed her father. Sadly, Ysabel just didn’t understand why he couldn’t be there for her during this scary time. Unsurprisingly, fans also believe this was the real final nail in the coffin of Kody’s relationship with Christine.

In a thread on Reddit, fans compare Dayton getting his surgery to Ysabel getting hers. Ultimately, fans were disgusted. Here’s what some had to say:
- “Kody and Robyn discuss how they did a lot of research for a great plastic surgeon that would fix Daytons eye lid from the ATV accident! I’m sure that cost a pretty penny and not only that He made sure to leave Christine’s house to be at Robyn’s bright and early 6am.”
- “That’s so true. He wouldn’t lift a finger or provide financial assistance for his own biological children but is happy to spend time and money on Robyn’s children. I wonder why the wives and kids never spoke about that on the show.”
- “Also note, at that point Dayton’s surgery was cosmetic and Ysabel’s was an intrusive major medical surgery.”
