However, that policy went for a toss after his marriage to Robyn. Kody started spending the majority of his time with Robyn. He also claimed that he had no feelings for his first wife, Meri. But there was a time when he mixed up Meri and Robyn in bed.
It so happened that Kody was with Robyn one night. He was almost asleep, and in an unconscious state, he told Robyn, “I love you, Meri.” It shocked Robyn and all the viewers as well. Kody earlier claimed that he has no feelings for Meri, so why did he mix up the two? Kody himself has no answers about his actions. He claimed that his connection with Meri might have been deeper than he admitted.

Sister Wives fans know that Kody can be quite petty about insignificant issues. In an episode, Meri told her friend that while they were moving to Vegas, Kody threatened her and said that he would be horrible to her for the next twenty years. This statement shocked her as he quipped it out of nowhere. Kody explained that Meri had been terrible to him for the first twenty years of their marriage, so he, too, would be horrible to her.
Kody accused Meri of being ‘mean’ and ‘hard to live with.’ So, for the next twenty years, he would be the same with her and not work to fix their relationship. Meri explained that at that time, she was shocked by Kody’s behavior, but now she is over it. Later, Meri was seen laughing over Kody’s statement as she elaborated on how the joke was about him; she had not stayed with him for twenty years.

Meri and Kody’s relationship has deteriorated over the years. She was his first wife, but the duo had a spiritual union. Kody once shared that Meri no longer was affectionate towards him. She would cover herself when he would enter the room. He was her husband, so why did she hide her? Meri exclaimed that they were no longer close, and she felt uncomfortable.
Kody’s relationship with his other wives also deteriorated over time. One after another, everyone left him. He is now in a monogamous marriage with Robyn. The other has moved out and started to live afresh. It’s still not clear if Kody will remarry or if he will stay monogamous to Robyn.
