General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may have to go against his usual instincts to clear up a mess. Sonny is normally all about covering his tracks – which is exactly why he had Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) permanently destroy the gun used to wipe out Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Unfortunately, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) set off a terrible chain reaction when she stole a different registered gun from Sonny’s lockbox.

Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got caught getting rid of it, so now Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) is pointing the police in Kristina’s direction.

Molly is determined to exonerate Alexis and make sure Kristina goes down instead, so a huge part of this must be her desire to make her sister pay for the baby’s demise.

It’s clear that Molly’s in a vengeful headspace, so GH spoilers say she may not rest until Kristina is facing charges for John’s murder.

What happens if Sonny realizes Kristina is actually going to trial over this?

Sonny may determine that he can’t sit back and watch Kristina suffer through all the drawn-out court drama.

Kristina is still in a fragile place emotionally, so Sonny may refuse to pile on any other issues.

Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) knows Sonny is guilty even if she can’t prove it, so she’ll be pleased if he comes forward to clear Kristina’s name.

Just when it looks like things are going to take a terrible turn for Kristina, Sonny may march into the PCPD and pump the brakes.

Perhaps Sonny will confess and enter a guilty plea in exchange for all charges against Kristina being dropped.

Sonny might also claim he seduced Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to create an alibi and contend that she was just his pawn.

It’d be Sonny’s way of making sure he’s the only one who suffers for his own crimes.

Could Sonny’s prison storyline be brewing at the end of all this? Will Sonny become an inmate at Pentonville – at least for a while?

We’ve seen other characters like Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) land at Pentonville temporarily in recent years, so Sonny might be next in line for a story arc there.

Naturally, Sonny could still get off the hook down the road. There might be a fall guy sooner or later, so Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) could argue that Sonny falsely confessed to save his daughter.

Sonny’s conviction might get overturned and make him a free man again despite his guilt. Whatever the case, Sonny indeed took Cates’ life, so he honestly deserves some prison time for that!
