‘Insane hate mail’ drove Whitney Way Thore to ‘near-suicide’ – ‘I’ve had stalkers’

Pregnancy and relationship rumors have swirled around Whitney Way Thore in the past. But, these days she’s not dealing with just regular comments about herself on the internet. She’s receiving physical hate mail and had her home vandalized in the past. Whitney Way Thore revealed she received hateful comments so bad she “couldn’t even speak them out loud” during the last season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

July 9 saw the arrival of a brand new batch of My Big Fat Fabulous Life episodes. During season 12, she said her crew is “literally like her family” and that she has “the most fun filming this reality TV show and doing her job,” but added that there’s a “big price to pay.”

Whitney deals with ‘insane’ hate online

Whitney Way Thore is all about positivity and says she’s “determined to find joy in her fourth decade” during MBFFL.

Season 12 comes with some hurdles as she’s still mourning the loss of her mother, Babs Thore, throws her ex a party as he welcomes a child with someone else, and she admits she still loves her French ex-boyfriend.

Whitney tells the cameras: “I’m a childless woman in the midst of a midlife crisis and I’m determined to find joy in my fourth decade.”

However, Whitney also explains during the show that she’s receiving hate mail like never before.

The hate being hurled at the TLC star reached such a point so severe that she was suicidal during season 12.

Speaking to ET, she said:”I’ve had bricks through my car windows, people have broken into my parents’ house, walked in the house, talked to them like they knew them. People come to my doorstep all the time, I’ve had legitimate stalkers, I’ve been on a hit list that was on the dark web, and I had to get the FBI involved. It is absolutely insane.”

She continues: “After season 11 premiered, the amount of hate that I was getting surpassed anything that I have experienced in my entire career and I was almost suicidal over it.”

“So much of it was about my mother… nothing shocks me, right? But when my mom died and people started saying stuff like that to me, ‘Your mother hated you’, ‘Your mother would be disappointed in you’… I actually couldn’t believe it.”

Whitney sheds tears during interview

Whitney and her family have been through a lot in the more recent My Big Fat Fabulous Life seasons.

Not only is hate mail being left on the family’s doorstep, but they also had to deal with the loss of Babs.

Whitney also struggles with her love life during the TLC show. She tells ET she doesn’t want to be made to cry in an interview this July.

Getting emotional about the Frenchman, she says: “Spoiler, I’m still in love with him.”

She adds how one of the “negatives” of reality TV is that it affects her personal relationships. Whitney says the Frenchman “does not want a public life at all.”

Giving fans an update on her current relationship status, the TLC star adds how she “…doesn’t want to be alone forever, but the days of dating sites are abysmal.”
