General Hospital’s Finn, Hayden and Violet Deserved Happy Ending – Michael Easton’s Exit a Missed Opportunity
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) rehab exit has brought some disappointment among fans. Finn’s alcohol struggles came out of nowhere and led to him spinning out way too fast.
This storyline has been rushed and has brought an unsatisfying conclusion, especially since Easton confirmed he’s already filmed his final scenes as Finn.
What happens at the end of Finn’s 90-day rehab stint? It doesn’t seem like GH plans to show Finn as a healthy, stable father on the other side of his recovery, so that’s adding to the sadness here.
It’s possible Finn will eventually suffer a tragic outcome off-screen – or maybe he could simply rejoin Doctors Without Borders again.
Questions remain about whether Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) will stick around after that 90-day rehab stint plays out.
Whatever the case, Finn’s exit seems like a missed opportunity since the show could’ve brought Rebecca Budig back as Hayden Barnes for a family reunion.
It would’ve been great if the writers had finally rectified Hayden’s disappearance and had her make a long-awaited return.
That could’ve led to Hayden getting back together with Finn and sharing plenty of heartfelt scenes with their daughter.
Finn, Hayden and Violet could’ve been given the happy ending they deserve if they all left town for a fresh start elsewhere.
It just seems like the show should’ve put a little more time and effort into writing Finn off canvas. If more planning had gone into all this, maybe Hayden could’ve been included and helped create a truly satisfying sendoff.
Of course, it’s possible the show could include a line of dialogue about Finn getting a lead on Hayden and searching for her once his rehab stint is over.
The door might still be open for a Finn, Hayden and Violet family reunion at some point.
Regardless, it’s not happening on-screen right now – and that’s a real bummer!
This rehab exit is falling flat in some ways, so many viewers can’t help but think about what might’ve been.
