Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away has teased the future of Tane Parata’s surprise baby storyline with a new promo.

Viewers watching at Australian pace have already seen a harrowing turn of events play out as Tane found an abandoned girl on the beach.

Tane has been very protective of the child, staying by her side at the hospital and raising questions over whether he may be getting overly attached to her.

The ordeal has been particularly tumultuous for Tane since his marriage to Felicity Newman broke down because she didn’t want to have children.

A new promo released on Instagram offers some hints on where this poignant storyline will go next for both Tane and Felicity.

Rose Delaney will get involved to lead a police search for the child’s mother, all the while Tane is growing more attached and even gives her a name.

“She should have a name,” Tane says in the clip, before deciding: “Maya, Maori for courage.”

As Tane cradles Maya, the clip reveals Felicity looking awestruck as she witnesses how loving her estranged husband is acting towards the helpless baby.

A voiceover teases the implications: “Is this the one thing that could bring them back together?”

These scenes will be airing in Australia next week and then in the UK in April.

It has been a rough few months for the former couple, as Tane found out earlier this year that Felicity was still taking contraceptive pills even after telling him she was ready to start a family.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
