Kevin McKidd Talks 'Grey's Anatomy' 'Reignition' with New Characters

Dr. Owen Hunt has been put through his paces over the last few seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. He found out just before his wedding to Teddy that Teddy was sleeping with Koracick. Yet, he married her anyway and the resentment piled up. He considered breaking it all off, but the two found their way together.

Then he decided it was time to help veterans who had been put to one side after serving in the military. Part of that was helping them die with dignity, but that was against the law and he risked jail time. Instead, he ended up with a license suspension, which he got back during Grey’s Anatomy Season 19.

What’s in store for him in Grey’s Anatomy Season 20? Will he even be back?

There is some great news for Owen Hunt fans—not so great for those who can’t stand the character. Owen Hunt is coming back. Just ahead of the Season 19 finale, Deadline announced that multiple long-time cast members were back for another year, and that included McKidd.

Landing early contract renewals for some of the main cast members was important. The series has seen a number of exits in recent years including Justin Chambers, Jesse Williams, Kelly McCreary, and even Ellen Pompeo.

So, what’s in store for Owen next? Well, he’s got a personal storyline coming up. We know that Teddy is likely to survive her current life-threatening situation as Kim Raver was also on the list of cast members who have signed up for another year. Owen will likely be a helicopter husband as she deals with her recovery, although likely wants to get back to work as Chief of Surgery.

We may see more of Owen and Teddy’s differences of opinion when it comes to parenting their children. This is important to show as parents do have different styles and wishes, and we need to see how parents can compromise.
