Grey’s Anatomy season 20 will premiere in the US on 14th March 2024.

The UK release date for the season has yet to be confirmed for Disney+.

The delay in production and transmission remains due to the SAG-AFRA and WGA strikes which have now lifted.

The season consists of only 10 episodes – the shortest since the first season – due to the delay.

Grey’s Anatomy season 20 first look reveals Ellen Pompeo in scaled-back role

The new season will mark the first year that Pompeo’s Meredith Grey isn’t a Seattle resident.

Grey’s Anatomy is back — and so is Meredith (Ellen Pompeo)?

ABC dropped a new teaser for season 20 of the long-running medical drama on Friday, but fans might be surprised to see Meredith Grey, the show’s namesake, featured.

Over the course of season 19, Meredith decided to move to Boston, leaving Seattle in her rearview mirror after two decades of medical emergencies and horrific tragedies. It was previously announced that, for the first time ever, Pompeo would not be a series regular, instead popping in as a recurring character.

The new teaser now showcases Meredith asking someone how long she has to wait? If she means until season 20 airs, the answer is through March 14, when the new episodes kick off on ABC.

The footage also highlights the return of the season 19 interns, including Simone Griffith (Alexis Floyd), Benson “Blue” Kwan (Harry Shum Jr.), Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane), Mika Yasuda (Midori Francis), and Lucas Adams (Niko Terho).

Griffith and Adams have some serious talking to do after they hooked up on the night that was meant to be Griffith’s wedding. Richard (James Pickens Jr.) is still grappling with a potential relapse into alcoholism, apparently ordering a vodka martini? Teddy (Kim Raver) remains in critical condition after collapsing in the O.R., while Link (Chris Carmack) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) continue to explore their love connection.
