Tristan Rogers, best known for playing Robert Scorpio on General Hospital, recently received an honor in Palm Springs, California. Many notable figures appeared at the event to help honor the star. Rogers will also join the ranks of various other famous figures who’ve received the honor.
Tristan Rogers Has Been In Soaps Since The Start Of His Career
Rogers is a Melbourne-born actor who first broke into Australian soap operas, like Bellbird and Number 96. In 1980, he appeared on General Hospital as the character Robert Scorpio.
In 1992, Scorpio was killed off, but briefly appeared as a spirit in 1995. Throughout the 2000s, however, Rogers returned to the show, with Scorpio turning up alive.
Rogers last appeared on the show in November 2024. During the 2010s, Rogers also notably appeared as Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless.
Outside of his work in soaps, Rogers has also been noted for his work as a voice-over artist. Notably, he served as the voice of Jake in Walt Disney Pictures’ The Rescuers Down Under.
The actor recently received an honor for his work while in Palm Springs. On November 18, Rogers obtained a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
The star was accompanied by his wife, Teresa, and his children, Cale and Sara. The event took place at the Eight4Nine Restaurant and Lounge.
Many Notable Names Came Out To Honor Rogers In Palm Springs
The Palm Springs Walk of Stars shared a video of the event on Instagram. As it noted, “We had the honor of celebrating the legendary [Tristan Rogers] today, dedicating the 471st star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars to him for his longtime dedication to not only entertainment, but our community.”
“Congratulations, again, Tristan! You are immensely valued, loved, and cherished and today was a testament to that.”
Noted soap actress Judith Chapman also appeared at the event. Notably, she had played Ginny Blake Webber on General Hospital in the 1980s. Soaps In Depth noted that Palm Springs mayor Jeffrey Bernstein and Chamber of Commerce CEO Nona Watson were also there to present the star to Rogers.
As noted by Michael Fairman TV, Rogers also shared that, “This honor on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars is truly special to me. It represents not only my journey in entertainment but also my strong connection to this remarkable community as Palm Springs has been my adopted home for many years.”
The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce noted on its website that these dedications honor people of various fields. These include humanitarians, entertainers, athletes, literary figures, military figures, and more.
In the world of entertainers who’ve received the honor, Rogers now joins figures like Frank Sinatra, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley. The website notes that, “Each applicant in the field of entertainment should have been recognized by their peers, received significant honors and awards for their achievements, and be known or recognized internationally in their industry.”
