Cameron Mathison is known for playing Drew Quartermaine on General Hospital. During a recent appearance, the actor shared some predictions he has about the soap in the upcoming year, just ahead of the holiday season.
In particular, he shared what he thinks is in store for Drew and his relationships. As the actor noted, some of his predictions might really surprise fans.
Drew Mathison Made An Appearance At Christmas-Con
Mathison has portrayed Drew Cain on General Hospital since 2021. Beforehand, from 1997 to 2011, he also notably played Ryan Lavery in All My Children.
Over the years, he has also notably appeared in a variety of Christmas films for Hallmark Channel and Great American Family. Notably, the actor recently made an appearance at 2024’s “Christmas-Con.”
During the second day, Mathison appeared in a video where he talked with Soap Hub‘s Bryan Beckley. While there, Beckley asked the actor what he thought would happen to Drew in the upcoming year.
As noted by Michael Fairman TV, Mathison noted, “I’d like Drew to mend his relationship with Curtis.” He continued, “Are you ready for this? I would like Drew and Willow to take it to the next level.
They love each other, well, Drew loves Willow. I’m not sure that Willow is 100% sold on Drew yet.”
The Actor Suspected Drew Would Follow In The Footsteps Of Another Famous Character
The actor suspected that Drew and Willow had potential for big things. As he noted, “I think it’s like a super couple in the making.
I know everybody’s going to think I’m nuts, but just wait. You guys are going to love Willow and Drew, eventually.”
As his actor noted, Drew has gone through significant character growth, which could greatly impact his relationship.
As he shared, “Drew has kind of a different perspective these days, from having almost dying in prison, and doing it for Carly (Laura Wright), then Carly dumping him and the Quartermaines trying to get rid of him.”
Mathison even compared the couple to one of the soap’s most famous supercouples. As he noted, “Think about how Luke and Laura started?”
While the couple started out surrounded in controversy, Mathison noted they ended up “the ultimate supercouple, so you never know.” Even the interviewer noted, “That is a great point.”
In addition to his work as an actor, Mathison has also recently become the host of the game show, Beat the Bridge. During the interview, he also noted that the fans of his work on soaps, Christmas movies, and the game show have become “one big family” to him.
