General Hospital’s Kate Mansi Marries Matt McInnis!
Congratulations are in order for General Hospital star Kate Mansi (Kristina), who married producer Matt McInnis over the weekend! Back in May, the actress shared a photobooth slideshow of her and her fiancé captioned, “Is it July yet? Can’t wait to marry you.” But the couple moved up the date of their nuptials by a month, seemingly surprising their guests with the ceremony. Although not all of the guests — her TV sister, Kristen Vaganos (Molly), shared a mirror selfie with the bride in a wedding gown in her Instagram Stories and revealed, “For the record, I knew,” with a winky-face emoji. She also shared a video of the couple’s first dance after being declared man and wife, though the bride is wearing a different dress than the one in the picture Vaganos posted.
Almost a year ago, Mansi happily announced her engagement to McInnis, showing off her gorgeous diamond ring after he surprised her with a romantic and low-key proposal in their home on July 3, 2024. The couple had been serious since the previous summer, sharing photos on social media of their African safari and a visit to his family on the East Coast. “No one makes me laugh like you,” she shared in another post. The pair is already the proud parents of an adorable little fur baby, a doodle named Stanley.
This is the second marriage for Mansi, who previously tied the knot in an intimate ceremony during the Covid lockdown. While they had originally planned to hold a larger celebration of the union with family and friends, that never came to pass, and Mansi’s world was rocked when her husband asked for a divorce. “Not only was I grieving the marriage I thought I was going to have, but the future that I thought I was going to have,” the actress confessed during a 2023 episode of State of Mind, the YouTube series hosted by her TV father, Maurice Benard (Sonny).
But that heartbreak proved to be the start of a new and happier chapter for Mansi, who explained, “In that moment, there was so much peace and so much freedom. ‘No one’s coming to save me. I’ve got to pick myself up from this.’ And that was the first moment of me really reclaiming myself.”
Mansi made her daytime debut back in 2011 when she joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as a recast of Abigail Deveraux, earning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2017. After exiting DAYS in 2016, the actress returned again in 2018 for another run, making her final departure in 2020. In 2023, Mansi took over the role of Kristina Davis on GH from the previous portrayer, Lexi Ainsworth.
The Toronto-born McInnis is a producer who has worked on the Netflix Marvel series Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones, as well as Helstrom and, most recently, The Witcher: Blood Origin.
