Cameron Mathison to star in new Christmas flick with Candace Cameron Bure

Cameron Mathison expands his Great American Family résumé with a new holiday movie filled with romance.

It might be July, but General Hospital star Cameron Mathison is ready for an on-screen festive holiday season, starring in Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells opposite Candace Cameron Bure. The Great American Family flick is a part of the network’s Great American Christmas 2024 series.

According to TV Insider, Bure plays Gracie, a wedding planner who seems to do it all but turns down a daunting task to plan a quick Christmas wedding. Mathison plays Charlie, a man who wants to give his sister and her fiancé the perfect wedding. Eventually, Gracie relents and takes the job, but she finds several hurdles along the way. Cameron Bure will also executive produce the film.

In November of 2023, Mathison signed a multi-picture deal with Great American Family after already starring in two other holiday movies for the channel, including A Merry Christmas Wish and A Kindhearted ChristmasJingle Bells, Wedding Bells will premiere in November of this year.

“It is very important to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories,” Mathison said at the time, according to Deadline. “I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy.”

Mathison is a very busy man professionally. His on-screen GH life became infinitely more complicated this week when Drew and Willow shared quite a hot and heavy kiss. With Drew running for office, that could become a scandal — especially if he and Willow have a full-blown affair. Willow doesn’t even know Drew has been having office sex with her mother, Nina.

Mathison, who got his soap start as Ryan Lavery on All My Children, also hosts the new Game Show Network original Beat the Bridge. Previously, he hosted Hallmark’s Home & Family talk show and was a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.
