Brandon Barash Unexpectedly Fired From Days Of Our Lives
Brandon Barash made his soap opera debut in 2007. He joined General Hospital as Johnny Zacchara, the next generation of the Zacchara mob family. The character was written off in 2013.
The actor returned to GH several times after that but left for good in 2016 when the character was sent to prison. Brandon Barash went on to join Days of Our Lives as Stefan DiMera. He took over the role from Tyler Christopher, who previously starred on General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine.
In a soap plot twist, Brandon Barash also played the role of Stefan’s twin, Jake DiMera. In October 2024, the actor announced the shocking news that he was leaving Days of Our Lives. He was unexpectedly let go. Now soap fans are clamoring for his return to General Hospital.
General Hospital Fan Begs Show To Bring Back Johnny Zacchara
General Hospital has been floundering in the ratings lately. Could the return of Johnny Zacchara give the show a boost? Maybe. One soap fan took to Reddit to beg the ABC to scoop Brandon Barash up before a rival network does. CBS could bring him on one of their soaps or Days Of Our Lives could bring him back as Stefan.
The fan suggested that Brandon Barash could return to GH as Johnny Zacchara or even a Cassadine. “Can we trade Drew and Cody and get Johnny Z back? Give me a bad boy I can root for please. I could see him back with Lulu, or in a new relationship, maybe with Molly,” the fan suggested.
The viewer noted that Brandon Barash and ex-wife Kirsten Storms (Maxie) have a good relationship, so that wouldn’t be a hurdle for his return.
How It Could Happen
Several other GH fans loved the idea of Brandon Barash coming back to the soap, either as Johnny or a different character.
