General Hospital Spoilers: Nicholas Alexander Chavez Now Off Contract as Spencer – Disappears from GH’s Closing Credits
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s more news to spill about Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s (Spencer Cassadine) status with the show, so let’s talk about where things stand.
Chavez recently unfollowed most GH-related accounts on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, which raised suspicions about whether he’d be returning to finish his contract.
The show previously referred to Chavez’s exit as a temporary leave of absence and indicated that he’d be back once he was done filming Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
However, the latest evidence says Chavez is no longer on contract at all. In the closing credits for the March 29 episode, Nicholas Alexander Chavez disappeared from his usual contract position.
Chavez had previously been included on the contract list following his January 31 on-air departure, so it’s noteworthy that he’s suddenly vanished from that list now.
That’s especially true when you consider Chavez’s recent move to distance himself from the ABC soap by unfollowing some of his GH costars.
Now that Chavez was cut from the closing credits completely, it suggests he was taken off contract – which means he’ll no longer be obligated to return as Spencer Cassadine.
There’s a good chance that TPTB simply decided it was best to not bother bringing Chavez back for mere months to wrap up the contract he initially signed.
It makes more sense to just release Chavez from his contract so that he can continue pursuing other projects and the show can focus on finding a full-time Spencer recast.
Of course, there’s no guarantee Spencer will return now that Chavez is apparently out of the picture, but Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) won’t have much of a storyline without him.
Spencer got a classic soap exit that’s perfect for a comeback since no body was ever found to confirm his demise.
The show will hopefully find a new actor to play Spencer who’s interested in sticking around and committing to the next phase of Spencer’s story – particularly his love story with Trina since the pairing has proved popular.
Bottom line, there’s no indication that Nicholas Alexander Chavez is coming back now that he’s been dropped from the closing credits contract list, so our predictions suggest he may be officially done at GH.
General Hospital spoilers say Trina will hopefully get a reunion with a Spencer recast sooner or later, so stick with us for updates on any news about a replacement actor.
