General Hospital Spoilers: Is Valentin the Mystery Shooter Who Eliminated Austin Gatlin-Holt?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s a question the show still needs to answer regarding one character’s exit. Someone pulled the trigger on Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and eliminated him, but who was it?

Whenever there’s a writing transition, it’s common for storylines to get dropped or changed.

Fans don’t always get the answers they’re looking for, but this feels like a huge deal that shouldn’t be ignored.

Of course, Austin wasn’t a very well-liked character – nor was he popular with the people of Port Charles.

Barely anyone mourned or even noticed Austin was gone, but he faced a pretty gruesome exit that left a major unsolved mystery.

That brings us to Valentin, who’s running Pikeman while Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) is locked up at Pentonville.

Valentin is now willing to do sinister things again – like mess with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bipolar meds and allow the hit attempts that came before that.

It feels like a big shift for Valentin, who had seemingly settled down and turned his life around for the most part.

Valentin is a villain once more, so we should consider what this twist means and what he’s really capable of.

Under the circumstances, it wouldn’t be surprising if Valentin was the one who fired at Austin and took him out permanently.

Valentin may also be the one who sent the disturbing notes, pics and weapon to Ava Jerome (Maura West).

It’s obvious that Ava is manipulating Sonny, so Austin’s demise may have been part of the plan to control Ava and create some danger to put her in Sonny’s penthouse.

Now Ava is in the prime position to push all the right buttons and pull all the right strings.

Whatever the case, it’s interesting that GH writers have taken Valentin back down such a sinister road.

Since James Patrick Stuart is often busy with other projects, could this be the show’s way to inch Valentin toward the exit door?

Time will tell, but fans will be eager to find out if Valentin was the mystery shooter who took down Austin for good.
