General Hospital Spoilers tease Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was furious when Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) told her he had been working for Federal Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) for the last two and a half years — ever since he went missing and was presumed dead.
Being blackmailed into compliance, it’s surprising Jason even confided in Anna, given that he’s not willing to share that information with anyone else — not even his attorney, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).
But he knew he could trust Anna and that she had some modicum of power in this situation which might be able to help him.
With the charges stacked against Jason, there’s no better time for Anna to bring Dex into the fold than now.
Hiring him as an officer, and letting Jagger think Dex’s role is merely to take Sonny down, while at the same time using Jason to take Jagger down — will be the highlight of Anna’s career.
She has been seeking validation and the ability to set things right with any branch of the federal government ever since she was exiled as an agent. Is this her chance?
General Hospital Spoilers — Jagger Gets Played
Jagger is so blinded by his own personal vendetta against Sonny that he won’t see this coming — and Anna knows that and will use it to her advantage.
Giving him full resources at the PCPD, Jagger will be delighted when Anna tells him she has convinced Dex to join the police force to help take Sonny down.
They’ll have to be careful not to fall prey to the rules of entrapment, but Dex should be able to get the evidence he needs for Jagger to put Sonny behind bars forever.
There’s just one problem: Anna hasn’t really turned her back on Sonny — and Dex may become collateral damage in the middle of this take-down that is really intended for Jagger.
GH Spoilers – Anna Keeps Jason’s Secret Close to the Vest
Anna took Jason seriously when he confessed to her that he was working for Jagger.
Anna couldn’t believe she had been duped by this guy, especially after she apologized and shared so much with him about her own feelings toward Sonny.
While she won’t be admitting to herself anytime soon that he was right, she’s still partial to saving Sonny.
If she can save him by way of invalidating Jagger’s case against him, all the better.
In the meantime, she’ll use the information Jason has given her about Jagger blackmailing him into being a mercenary for the FBI to build her own case against the federal agent.
General Hospital Spoilers – Setting the Stage
The whole time that Jagger and Dex are building a case against Sonny, Anna will know she’s going to use their own case to put Jagger away — or at the very least, get his badge revoked.
She knows a thing or two about being a federal agent, and she can’t stand seeing someone like Jagger abuse his authority for personal reasons this way.
Could her landmark covert case against Jagger be enough to earn her own badge back as a federal agent?
Or will her attack on the FBI only further stain her name in the eyes of law enforcement when it costs them a conviction against Sonny Corinthos?
