General Hospital: Patrick Mulcahey OUT at GH – Shocking New Head Writing Team Change
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s some huge news that’s shaking up the soap world – and it once again revolves around GH’s head writing team. Let’s talk about some significant changes behind the scenes.
Earlier this year, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte replaced Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor as the show’s head scribes, so plenty of fans looked forward to seeing a new vision.
Unfortunately, that vision turned out to be a total disaster! We get that there’s always an adjustment period when it comes to writing transitions, but many of the characters in Port Charles have become unrecognizable at this point.
The writing is a trainwreck – and fans are clearly showing their disapproval since the ratings have been tanking hard.
It’s time for an emergency shakeup as the show tries to turn this sinking ship around.
That brings us to that huge news we mentioned since BuzzWorthy Radio’s source informed them that Patrick Mulcahey was given the boot.
Now SOD is confirming that Mulcahey isn’t part of GH’s head writing team anymore.
That should come as a relief to the viewers who have been upset over the show’s latest direction.
It’s at least evidence that TPTB know things are dire and that changes have to be made.
Of course, it’ll take some time before those changes hit the screen since Mulcahey and Korte wrote material together that’ll play out through mid-summer.
There’ll be more writing team updates released later, so there may be other hirings and firings to talk about once that happens.
Although BuzzWorthy Radio claims Chris Van Etten is back at the helm alongside Elizabeth Korte, SOD is only calling him a breakdown writer so far. That could change depending on other upcoming announcements about the new transition.
Regardless, it’s nice to know something is being done to fix the mess that’s been created.
Port Charles just doesn’t feel like the same Port Charles anymore, so let’s hope the show can turn things around quickly.
