‘General Hospital’ Kelly Thiebaud Talks Return To Soap
Kelly Thiebaud is making her return to General Hospital. As fans are anticipating what the actress’ return will mean for the soap, the actress herself recently shared her feelings over her return on social media. A few of Thiebaud’s co-stars also talked about the news, even getting a few responses from Thiebaud herself.
Kelly Thiebaud First Joined General Hospital Back In 2012
Thiebaud started her career appearing in the film, Journey of Redemption and television shows like Castle, Chuck, Criminal Minds, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. One of her first soap roles was appearing in a few episodes of Days of Our Lives.
In 2012, Thiebaud would join the cast of General Hospital as Dr. Britt Westbourne. She originally left the role in 2014, but has reprised the role quite a few times over the years.
The character, often dubbed “the Britch” and “The Wicked Witch of the Westbourne,” would appear to have met her end in 2023 after a confrontation with the Hook Killer.
However, it was later confirmed that Thiebaud would return to General Hospital this July. The news that she would be returning to Port Charles was previously confirmed by Deadline.
Executive producer Frank Valentini shared, “I am thrilled to have Kelly back on our show. We have some great twists and turns planned for her character.” For her part, the actress shared, “It is good to be home.”
At the time, it wasn’t confirmed if Thiebaud would be returning to the role of Dr. Britt Westbourne or would be playing a completely different character. Dr. Britt is officially considered “deceased” on the show, but characters can always find a way to come back when it comes to soaps.
Taking to Instagram, Thiebaud also shared her excitement over her return to the soap. In the caption, she wrote, “You guys rock!!! I am blown away by the outpouring of love and excited from yall!! You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you.” In the accompanying video, Thiebaud could be seen dancing and blowing kisses.

Since the news has come out, the actress has received congratulations from fans and fellow soap stars, with Thiebaud herself even responding to a few comments. Drew Cain’s actor Cameron Mathison, for example, wrote, “Love thissssssss.” Thiebaud responded to this, writing, “Thank you Cameron! Excited to work together again!”
Willow’s actress, Katey MacMullen, also shared, “Can’t wait!” This caused Thiebaud to tease, “We are going to have some fun!!!”
