Jonathan Jackson is returning to Port Charles and General Hospital in the role of Lucky Spencer. This is a role that he originated in 1993 but has since been played by other soap actors. General Hospital Jonathan Jackson Returns As Lucky Spencer
What a year for General Hospital fans. In March 2024, Steve Burton returned to his role of Jason Morgan after being fired from the soap in late 2021. He went off and spent time on Days of Our Lives but when his stint ended, fans hoped he would be back in Port Charles. That wish came true when he stepped out in his leather coat at the end of GH’s 60th Anniversary Special. Now, Jonathan Jackson is stepping back into his role of Lucky Spencer. It has been almost a decade since he played the part but he is so beloved in the soap community.
When he left the role in 1999, Jacob Young took over a year later. He stayed on for three years and then Greg Vaughan made the part his own. Both made Lucky their own as Jacob won a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal. Jonathan returned in 2009 to the role that earned him several Daytime Emmys and helped him meet his wife, Lisa Vultaggio. The two have been married for twenty-two years and have three children. Now, Jonathan announced his return via Twitter/X:
According to Deadline, this was something that had been teased by Executive Producer, Frank Valentini at the Daytime Emmys:
“A former cast member is coming back. And I think that the audience will go crazy for him.”

Now, no one knew who he meant but if it was Jonathan, fans are going to lose their minds over this. At the same time, Bryan Craig is making a cameo as Morgan for one day this summer, as well.

Now that Jonathan Jackson has shared he will be back on General Hospital, are fans ready for this? Some Jonathan fans had never seen him as Lucky but loved him on Nashville. Therefore, this may convert them into soap fans:
The last time Jonathan really spoke about the show was when his GH brother, Tyler Christopher passed away in October 2023. Now, he is coming back and it is expected to be for an extended period. Unfortunately, the exact details are not firmed so fans will have to keep waiting a little longer.
