Things are looking tense for Jason Morgan in recent episodes of General Hospital. In fact, some fans are starting to suspect Jason will find himself as the subject of a frame-up. These fans also suspect it will involve a story that has haunted the series for years.
General Hospital Fans Suspect Another Character Could Be Returning
Death has long been haunting Port Charles. Cyrus has been connected to multiple murders, and it appears that he might be onto his next victim. In fact, Cyrus’ plan might have taken years in the making.
Over the years, Cyrus was revealed to have a connection with Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt. Notably, Cyrus had paid for Austin’s medical school, allowing him to become a doctor.
In addition, Austin worked for Cyrus, causing him to commit various deeds. This ranged from testifying on his behalf and withholding information for his sake, as well as illegal medical procedures.
Eventually, Austin attempted to defy Cyrus, but it ended up in tragedy. The character was eventually killed by an assailant, with his murder serving as an unsolved mystery on the series.
This also allowed the departure of his actor Roger Howarth, who previously played Todd Manning and Franco Baldwin on the soap. However, some fans suspect that this isn’t the last they’ve heard of the character.
According to this theory, Austin is still alive. As some fans believe, his medical background would make it easier for him to have faked his death. This also wouldn’t be the first time he used his medical background to further Cyrus’ goals. After all, Cyrus had his reasons to pay for Austin’s medical school.
A Recent Encounter With Cyrus Could Spell Future Trouble For Jason
However, even if Austin is still alive, Cyrus has a reason to have everyone think he’s dead. As his passing is still shrouded in mystery, it could be used to falsely accuse someone of his murder.
One character Cyrus might want to take care of is Jason. After all, Jason is already searching for justice in Sam’s death and is one of many characters trying to take down the digitalis killer.
Recent events on the soap have also seen Jason confront Cyrus. As noted by Soap Hub, Jason openly threatened Cyrus at Charlie’s Pub. Framing Jason for murder could be opportune for Cyrus considering witnesses have seen him threaten Jason.
On the other hand, a possible frame-up doesn’t need to involve Austin. In fact, there’s also the possibility that Cyrus could fake his own death and pin the blame on Jason.
There’s also the matter of bringing Austin back from the grave. On one hand, his actor had notably returned to the soap under different names before. However, should the character come back, it’s also entirely possible he will appear wearing a new face. On the other hand, Austin doesn’t necessarily need to be alive for a frame-up.
