Fans of General Hospital have already grown suspicious of Jason getting the blame for Cyrus’ death. Now, some have shared reasons they think someone could be pinning a crime on Jason, notably his twin brother, Drew. Meanwhile, other fans suspect the writers have simply forgotten one important detail about Drew and Jason.
General Hospital Fans Recently Saw Joss Take Down Cyrus, But Authorities Think Otherwise
In recent events on the show, Cyrus’ slayings have been brought to an end with the character’s death. Viewers saw Joss take Cyrus down after shooting him in self-defense.
However, blame has fallen on Jason Morgan. Around this time, many fans began to question why the characters aren’t being more suspicious of what happened.
As previously reported, some fans have developed theories on what could really be going on. Some have even suspected that Cyrus could somehow still be alive.
Taking to Reddit, some fans suspect that someone is especially trying to set up Jason: his identical, at least prior to facial reconstruction surgery, twin brother, Drew. As a fan noted, “Jason’s DNA was found at Cyrus’s cabin but isn’t that also Drew’s DNA since they are identical twins?”
The fan continued, “Drew’s DNA should be on file as he is a convicted felon so when they searched the database, he should have come up as well. Since he’s claiming to have been home alone during the alleged crime, his lying leaves him without an alibi as well.”
“He also has a similar motive – his child’s mother was murdered by Cyrus. He may not have the ‘reputation’ Jason does but he definitely has the skills to kill somebody and disappear them – he was a Navy SEAL. Did I miss something here?”
Due to Cameron Mathison taking on the role of Drew, a role that was originally shared by Jason’s actors, Steve Burton and Billy Miller, some fans have forgotten that the two characters are intended to be identical. In fact, some fans worry that the writers might have forgotten it.
As another fan pointed out, however, “They are ultimately identical twins as that’s what’s been said on the show. However, they’ve also explained why they no longer look identical (accident that required surgeries to fix Drew) and they have different hair colors. So, they’d be able to note which twin the hair came from by color. ”

That said, it was noted that soaps usually require a suspension of disbelief. As the noted, “However, let’s all be honest – there isn’t a universe where a political candidate doesn’t have cameras and security at his home – so Spinelli just needs to go digging and being out the proof Jason was there and Drew is a lying liar who lies.”
Other fans also shared similar sentiments. Namely, there are plenty of reasons to believe authorities could already differentiate between the two.
That said, others felt the original fan was onto something, or at least made good points. Some comments included:
- “They’ve said all along they were identical twins. This is why Drew not confirming Jason’s alibi is so stupid. Congressman Drew Cain was an elite Navy SEAL. He was stationed in San Diego on Coronado Island. There are only 8 SEAL teams. Little Creek in Virginia is the other.”
- “Agreed OP. Their hair color looks similar enough to me. It’s not like one has red hair, one has black. Both are brownish, dirty blonde. Plus, they have stated MANY times that they are identical, thus the DNA would match.”
- “I had forgotten about that. I guess the writers did not think about that.”
- “Forget the cameras. If they had them at GH they would have seen Cy lurking around. Remember when Julian Jerome put that Nell planted blanket in the Qs house to frame Carly. Sent her to the nuthouse. No security cameras? In the Qs compound? Brenn told Jose that he’ll take care of the Jason evidence.”
- “Good point. Wouldn’t that throw a wrench in Drew’s plans to take Jason down? LOL.”
Some fans theorize this could lead to something bigger, while others suspect the writers have forgotten the soap’s continuity. Ultimately, only time will tell what will happen on the soap.
