‘General Hospital’ Is Sam Really Dead? Recast Coming?
Rumors began circulating last summer that Kelly Monaco was fired from General Hospital after more than two decades of playing Sam McCall. Unfortunately for fans, the rumors were true. To add insult to injury, not only was she fired, but the show killed Sam McCall off in a confusing murder. She was killed by Cyrus Renault for interfering in his plans to be an Angel of Mercy. Before she died, Sam donated part of her liver to save Lulu Spencer.
Sam McCall’s name has come up a lot on the soap recently. Fans are starting to wonder if the character is still alive. Could Sam McCall return to Port Charles, and would the role be recast?
Kelly Monaco Reveals Why She Almost Turned Down Dancing With The Stars
Kelly Monaco was a contestant on the first season of the celebrity dance competition Dancing With The Stars. While the show has become more of a popularity contest in recent years, the initial point of the show was to crown the most improved celebrity. After starting the show with little dance experience, Kelly Monaco was crowned the winner.
But she almost didn’t compete on the show at all. She recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly about her time on the reality show. She revealed that her friends and family discouraged her from joining Dancing With The Stars because “actors don’t do a reality show.”
The General Hospital star didn’t listen and will go down in history as the Season 1 champ. Dancing With The Stars returns to TV this fall with Season 34.
General Hospital Fans Wonder If Sam Is Really Dead
Fans of the actress were angry and heartbroken when she was fired from General Hospital. Kelly Monaco teased that she would spill backstage gossip after her exit, but she hasn’t yet. She was supposed to co-host a podcast with Travis Barker’s ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, but it’s been months since they announced the podcast.
In addition to the podcast, GH fans would love to see Kelly Monaco on another soap. But what if they could see her back on General Hospital instead?
One soap fan took to social media to speculate that Sam McCall might not be dead after all. “After watching this week, I can’t help but feel like they constantly still mention Sam, even though several people have died since her death,” they wrote online.
Sam’s name has come up a lot on the soap because the character left behind two children, Danny and Scout. But does her name coming up mean she’s actually alive?
Most fans don’t think the show would rehire Kelly Monaco after her social media comments about her firing. So, as far as most fans are concerned, yes, Sam is dead.
But soap fans know never to say never.
