‘General Hospital’ Shocker: Kelly Monaco Returns as Sam — Fans Overjoyed!
Sam McCall died this week on General Hospital but fans haven’t seen the last of actress Kelly Monaco. Keep reading for all the details on her final airdate.
Sam McCall Dies
The rumors about Sam McCall’s death weren’t greatly exaggerated. Fans have been speculating about Sam’s fate since it was announced in August that Kelly Monaco was fired. Heartbroken fans did everything they could to convince the soap to rehire the actress, including a petition and a billboard in Times Square. But the show refused to budge.
Sam was a match to donate part of her liver to Lulu Spencer. She made it through the surgery and even got engaged to Dante. But something went wrong. Despite Lucas and Elizabeth’s efforts to save her, Sam died on the Wednesday, October 30, episode.
The official General Hospital Twitter shared a preview for October 31 that showed the ripple effect of Sam’s death as her family and loved ones found out. The preview shows Alexis blaming Lucas for her daughter’s death. Elizabeth encourages Jason to stay strong for Sam. Enraged fans took to the comments to blast the show for killing off Sam and firing Kelly Monaco.
- “Sam shouldn’t be dead, I got a list of people they could and should have killed off and Sam wasn’t one of them, oh well I don’t care anymore this show SUCKS the writing SUCKS and Frank SUCKS. Nice knowing ya GH but bow that Sam is gone so am I”
- “Reverse this and fix this mess. Do it for Kelly and Sam.”
- “Seriously, how many deaths does this make this year? Ugh”
- “I’m so mad at you, GH. How could you kill off Sam? I was already mad that you didn’t bring Sam and Jason back together. How could you?”
General Hospital Fans Will See Kelly Monaco’s Sam Again
Sam may be dead, but the October 30 episode wasn’t Kelly Monaco’s last appearance on the soap. According to PEOPLE magazine, her final airdate comes later this week, either Thursday or Friday.
The outlet didn’t reveal the details of Kelly Monaco’s last appearance on the soap opera. Perhaps she will look over on her loved ones as she’s reunited with her stillborn daughter. Given that Sam died on-screen, it’s unlikely the show will resurrect the character, but never say never on soaps!
