‘General Hospital’: Arrests Made In Johnny Wactor’s Murder Case
When General Hospital star Johnny Wactor was murdered, it seemed there would be no justice. It happened late at night after a bartending shift, and there seemed to be no witnesses. However, the LAPD has gotten a break in his death, and there were finally arrests made in his tragic death.
Here is who the police have arrested and how they found the guilty parties.
Arrests Made In Johnny Wactor Murder Investigation
General Hospital star Johnny Wactor was murdered after he had gotten off from a bartending shift in May. He was not currently appearing on the popular ABC daytime soap opera and was working a bartending job to make money. When he was leaving work at 3 a.m., he saw some people at his car.
The people were trying to steal parts from his car. Johnny didn’t approach them or try to stop them, but one of them pulled out a gun and shot and killed the actor anyway. He died while his co-workers tried to do what they could to make him comfortable.
After his murder, there seemed to be no suspects. No one had any evidence of who it was, and it looked like a basic criminal incident gone horrifically wrong. With that said, the LAPD kept investigating. They recently released some photos of possible suspects, and now they have made some arrests.
How Did Police Find Johnny Wactor Suspects?
According to TMZ, the LAPD believes Florencia 13 gang members were involved, and that fingerprints helped crack the case. ABC News then reported that the LAPD served warrants on Thursday and made “multiple arrests.”
After the arrests, one of Johnny’s co-workers, who was with him when he died, said, “We are all in knots just hoping and praying these are the right guys, arrests are made, and convictions take place” (via Extra). Wactor’s mother, Scarlett, was also emotional when talking about her son’s senseless death. “If they were to catch them, it would just be so much easier to have closure.”
ABC News reported that the LAPD arrested four people in connection with Johnny’s death. Three of the suspects were 18 and ended up booked for murder. The fourth was 22, and he was booked as an accessory. The officers executed a search warrant at different locations on Thursday morning.
In the charges, police say that Johnny Wactor was shot “without provocation.”
“We must ensure that those who are responsible for this brazen and heinous act are held fully accountable,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement after their arrests.
