Financial Involvement Continues: ‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown’s Ongoing Contribution to Brown Family Assets?

Throughout the season, the Brown family has consistently mistreated and belittled Meri. However, it appears that she is still making significant financial contributions to the family’s assets, which has left fans feeling uneasy.

On Reddit, Sister Wives viewers expressed their strong opinions about the situation and expressed their desire to see Meri move on from Kody and Robyn and find happiness elsewhere.

Fans of Sister Wives are bewildered by Meri’s continued involvement with the family’s finances. Over the years, viewers have witnessed the deterioration of the relationship between Kody and Meri, and this season’s drama has taken it to a whole new level.

A Redditor shared a clip of Meri stating that she still contributes to the family’s finances, and fans were taken aback. They couldn’t help but question why Meri would continue to support the family, given how poorly she has been treated.

The revelation prompted surprise and disbelief among viewers. One person highlighted the contradiction of Meri admitting to contributing financially while also acknowledging that she hasn’t had a meaningful relationship with Kody for the past eight years.

Another Reddit user questioned how Robyn could justify taking money from the other wives when they live in a mansion filled with expensive collectibles, and Kody has neglected the other wives for years. They wondered what Meri and Janelle’s financial contributions were being used for, whether it was solely to pay off the land or to support the favored children.

The family’s financial struggles have been well-documented in the past, and with Meri, Janelle, and Christine no longer part of the family, the situation might worsen for Kody and Robyn. Only time will reveal what lies ahead for the Browns, now that they have all gone their separate ways.

Robyn Brown is still holding out hope that Meri and Kody Brown could make it work.

On Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives, the TLC star, 45, told Meri that she was “hanging on” with her amid her relationship struggles with Kody.

“I think you need to let go,” Meri, 52, responded. “It’s not fair to either of us. It’s not fair for me to be alone like I have been for years and it’s not fair for him to feel like he has to do a duty.”

Meri then grabbed Robyn’s hand as she broke down in tears over her decision to leave the family. Robyn, Meri and Kody noted that this is not how they wanted the relationship to end.

“Robyn came into our family specifically because she intended to live plural marriage,” Kody, 54, explained. “This appears to be the end of our plural marriage.”

Within a span of 14 months, three of the Sister Wives patriarch’s marriages imploded. Kody’s third wife, Christine Brown, was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later in December 2022, it was revealed that he had separated from his second wife Janelle Brown. A month after that, his union with first wife Meri was confirmed in January after the pair’s relationship had been platonic and distant for years.

Meri reflected on how relationship with Robyn will evolve following the split, saying, “I don’t think mine and Robyn’s relationship will be too much different than what’s been and also I need to figure out how to be friends with my ex-husband’s wife.”

Meri hugged Robyn and then gave a long hug goodbye to Kody.

“This is goodbye. It was a negotiation that is long-overdue. I mean, it’s been maybe a wasted seven years for Meri,” he shared. “I hope she finds peace, because I will.”

Robyn was still struggling with the end of their plural marriage, saying, “I always wanted to live plural marriage. I will just continue to spend time on my knees looking for peace and answers because it was really not a choice for me.”

Robyn recently opened up to PEOPLE about the aspects of plural marriage that she misses now that her former sister wives have ended their relationships with Kody.

“What I liked a lot about living plural marriage was the team effort, where I had sister wives,” she told PEOPLE, sharing how she “really wanted that camaraderie” and sense of “sisterhood” in addition to her marriage to Kody.

“I wanted that experience of my sister wives loving my children and being able to love their children and feeling like this kind of big, happy family, big group of people that really cared about each other,” she continued. “So that’s what I liked about it.”

While collective harmony and reconciliation seem like a lofty goal, Robyn shared her hopes it’s still “possible” for everyone to remain a “family.”

“It looks a little different,” she said of the family’s current dynamics. “I sure hope it’s possible, but I can’t have expectations. I can’t put expectations on people, I’m realizing more and more, as far as family and that connection and spending time together and stuff and operating kind of a family. So I hope and I pray that it’s possible, but that will be that a situation where everybody has to choose that. So I don’t know.”
