Ava’s Cause Of Death – Suspect Revealed | General Hospital Spoilers
Is Michael Easton Heading Back To ‘Days Of Our Lives’ As Tanner?
Michael Easton recently left General Hospital after more than a decade. Could he return to his old stomping grounds at Days of Our Lives? Keep reading for more on the rumors sweeping the internet.
Is Michael Easton Heading Back To Days Of Our Lives?
As hard as it is to believe, Michael Easton has been on the soap industry for over thirty years. He made his daytime debut on Days of Our Lives in 1991 in one of his first acting credits.
He played the role of Tanner Scofield for only two years but made a huge impression on daytime viewers. Many followed his career as he jumped around the various daytime dramas.
After leaving DOOL, the actor took a brief hiatus from acting. Michael Easton didn’t return to daytime until 2001 when he joined Port Charles as a vampire.
After Port Charles was canceled, the actor joined One Life To Live. He played Detective John McBain until 2012 when that show was canceled as well.
General Hospital brought Michael Easton and a few other actors as their OLTL characters. However, the company Prospect Park had bought the rights to the OLTL characters when the soap was canceled and forbid GH from using them.
So the actors from the defunct ABC soap were either fired or given new characters to play. Michael Easton began playing Silas Clay on General Hospital in 2013. The character was killed off in 2015. But the actor wasn’t done with the soap.
He returned as a brand-new character, Dr. Hamilton Finn, in 2016. But Michael Easton announced last week that he was leaving the ABC soap after more than a decade. Finn was sent off to rehab after falling off the wagon.
But the actor might not be off our screens for long. Soap fans speculate that Michael Easton could return to one of his first acting roles, Tanner Scofield on Days of Our Lives.
Who Is Tanner Scofield?
When Michael Easton played Tanner, Days of Our Lives still aired on NBC. The sudser moved exclusively to the Peacock streaming platform in 2022. It’s been renewed through 2025. Could fans see the return of Tanner? After all, Steve Burton just wrapped up a stint as Harris Michaels, a role he first played in 1988.
But fans who haven’t been watching DOOL long have no idea who Tanner is. He was brought on as the younger brother of Brian Scofield. Brian briefly dated Melissa Horton which gave him an immediate in with the show’s most important family.
The Scofield’s were also connected to the Horton’s through their father Vern. He worked at the Spectator with Jack Deveraux, who was pursuing Jennifer Horton around that time.
With Jack and Jennifer only occasionally on the show now, Tanner has no ties in Salem. But soaps.com proposed the idea of rewriting Tanner’s paternity.
