In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the General Hospital actress first reacted to the baby drama with Dante Falconeri. And boy, was she hooked on the storyline because it affects so many characters. These include BLQ, Chase, Lois, Ned, Tracy, Olivia, Sonny, Dante, Lulu, and even Rocco.
“I just think it’s a brilliant story point to bring out, and it makes for a lot of drama,” Amanda shared. Meanwhile, some fans are puzzled over this out-of-the-blue backstory, considering what has been established in Port Charles. Well, Setton gets it, but Port Charles has a knack for bending timelines and rewriting history when needed.
The actress admitted, “I do think there is a tad of a suspension of disbelief [required].” But then she thinks Brook Lynn and Dante were closer in age than people originally thought. Amanda is like, “Is it that big of an age difference?” According to her, Brook Lynn’s past makes so much sense, considering her attachment to Bailey. After all, she was pretending Maxie’s daughter was her own.
Setton Points Out Brook Lynn’s Dilemma
Furthermore, Setton explained that BL entered “as a sassy, self-involved brat who got arrested.” But she gradually grew softer and embraced her maternal side. Her deep yearning to be a mother was always there, but the character wasn’t conscious. So, how is she harboring such a big secret of motherhood?
It looks like Brook Lynn is already struggling to hold it together around Chase and Dante. The soap diva shared, “It’s eating her up alive” because she can’t put away the box that has been cracked open. Now, Brook is at a crossroads as she can’t tell Chase and doesn’t want to tell Dante either. But it’s only a matter of time before it all comes out!
Finally, Setton is excited about the evolving Brook Lynn and Dante dynamic, calling it the beginning of a dramatic arc.
