Janelle Brown is paying tribute to her late son Garrison Brown on his special day.
In a video montage posted to Instagram on Wednesday, the Sister Wives alum, 54, marked what would have been Garrison’s 26th birthday. The clip featured throwback shots of Garrison smiling in front of his birthday cakes and holding gifts he received for the occasion.
“Happy Birthday Sweetheart,” Janelle began in the caption. “We are missing you terribly today. It’s hard for believe you aren’t here anymore.”
The TLC star shared that she and loved ones “talked a lot” about Garrison and even went to Texas Roadhouse, Garrison’s “favorite place” to eat, in remembrance of him on his special day.
“I still feel you nearby sometimes,” she added. “And I’m grateful we will see each other again when my journey is completed.”
On March 5, 2024, PEOPLE confirmed that Garrison was found dead in his Flagstaff, Arizona home after an apparent suicide.
“On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home,” Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department told PEOPLE in a statement. The FPD confirmed that Garrison’s brother Gabriel, 22, “discovered Mr. Brown deceased” in an apparent suicide.
Lt. Hernandez continued, “At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating.”
Shortly after the news went public, Janelle and Garrison’s father Kody released a joint statement announcing the death of their son in respective posts shared to their social media accounts.
“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” they wrote. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Garrison had been a part of Sister Wives since its debut in 2010. In addition to Garrison, the now exes, Janelle and Kody, also share daughters Maddie, 28, and Savannah, 19 as well as sons Logan, 29, Hunter, 27, and Gabe, 22.
Three days after his death, Janelle reflected on the last time she was able to be with her entire family. Sheshared a heartwarming family photo on Instagram that showed her smiling alongside all six of her children, their spouses and her grandchildren at a holiday celebration that they spent together.
“I had all my children together last Christmas,” she captioned the post at the time. “It was amazing as it’s hard with everyone’s busy lives to coordinate time like this.”
She added a touching note: “I am extremely grateful now that we had pictures taken.”
