GH Spoilers: Big Hair, Big Heart, Jonathan Jackson’s New Role!
General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease Jonathan Jackson, the original Lucky Spencer is looking a bit different these days for a role in a movie.
Jonathan describes his look playing real-life contemporary Christian musician and producer Eddie DeGarmo, the movie having a big heart and him having big hair, with a curly blonde 80s rocker wig!
General Hospital Spoilers – ‘Unsung Hero’ A True Story
The movie Jonathan appears in, “Unsung Hero” is a biographical true story about contemporary Christian star Rebecca St. James and her family, including her brothers. Her brothers are also singers and actors, Joel and Luke Smallbone of “For KING + COUNTRY’.
The movie takes place in the years 1991-mid to late 1990s, and chronicles the real life collapse of their father David Smallbone’s successful music company based in Australia.
The family moved from Australia to Tennesee, where they struggled until teenage Rebecca was discovered by Eddie DeGarmo, successful on his own as half of “DeGarmo and Key”.
With partner Dana Key, popular throughout the late 1970s-mid-1990s, their biggest hit was “Destined To Win”; how appropriate for the story of the once struggling Smallbone family.
GH Spoilers – Honored To Be A Part
Jonathan considers it an honor to be a part of such a meaningful and inspirational film about the importance of family, and family members believing in and supporting one another.
David and Helen Smallbone held on to her strong faith as the family struggled in the days before young Rebecca’s success, inspiring her family to hang onto theirs.
Besides the two boys and Rebecca, there were another girl and three more boys-financially, things finally turn around in the mid-1990s with Rebecca’s discovery and her record album in 1994.
Jonathan’s look was fully approved of by Rebecca’s brother Joel, who also directed the film and quipped, “Bold move with the hair, Jackson” and Jonathan loved it!
