General Hospital Spoilers: Nicholas Alexander Chavez Drops All GH Co-Stars from Twitter – Is Spencer Returning as a Recast?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer Cassadine) is currently on a leave of absence from the ABC soap, but could this hiatus become a permanent one?
Chavez still had time left on his contract when he negotiated what was said to be a temporary exit, which allowed him to film Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
GH has always claimed that Nicholas Alexander Chavez would reprise the role of Spencer, but sometimes plans can change.
Could Spencer Cassadine be returning as a recast instead?
It’s a possibility to consider for multiple reasons, but let’s discuss one that recently had people in an uproar on X (the social media app formerly known as Twitter).
Chavez unfollowed almost all accounts related to General Hospital – including his co-stars – in a major social media shakeup.
The only GH-related account that Chavez follows now is Executive Producer Frank Valentini.
Chavez also follows Netflix and Ryan Murphy Productions, so that’s only three follows total with Valentini included.
It was an interesting decision that certainly got fans buzzing and created questions about Chavez’s career path.
Of course, it’s possible the changes to Chavez’s account are contractual or even just a way to help create the professional image he wants to put out there.
That said, it’s a change from what Chavez did before – and when something different happens, fans are always going to notice!
Since Chavez no longer follows any General Hospital cast members or anything that would tie him to the show besides Valentini, we should also consider the possibility that he’s trying to distance himself from soaps.
It honestly seems like it would be a mutually beneficial move for GH to just let Nicholas Alexander Chavez off the hook on the rest of his contract.
Viewers have gone this long without seeing Chavez as Spencer, so why bring him back – only to turn around and recast him once his contract obligations are fulfilled?
Wouldn’t it be better to just go ahead and recast now instead of having so much Spencer upheaval?
Regardless, there’s no official word on what’s happening behind the scenes, but stick with us for updates on any Spencer Cassadine predictions and potential recast news.
General Hospital spoilers say Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will continue to grieve in the meantime, so stay tuned!
